Thats the problem, there is nothing in Open for Edit. Can't get them to download so I can do the CTRL+M thing to get them to load in 2006. I have dumped all signs of them and I am going to retry. Maybe I hit the wrong button but I don't think I did since the other half was standing over my shoulder watching and reading from the manual.

Hi Rusty1955,

Ok. that is a different problem to your first post. First of all, have you entered your user name and password in the settings for CMP?
Have you entered TRS2006.exe and CMP.exe as exceptions in your firewall?
Is your kuid number in CMP settings/miscelaneous?
Does anything show in the CMP progress panel when downloading?

Cheers,

Answers to all questions is yes. To date it shows I have downloaded 1.09 GB of stuff. All I can access is the 4 locomotives and around 15 railcars I have downloaded. Where all the other stuff went, I haven't a clue. I did a search on my computer and couldn't find anything. For instance, I just finished downloading "The Rockies" route. A fairly large route and it is nowhere to be found on my computer. When I go to the Open for Edit section, it shows nothing. It's like it vanishes into midair.

I am trying not to get disgusted with this program and am making every attempt at doing it right but patience is wearing thin on this end. I thought this would be something good for me to do since I am now in a wheelchair after losing a leg to diabetes.

Thank you for trying to assist me, I really appreciate it.

Although I can't definitively solve this problem for you, I'm sure I speak for all of us when I ask you to hang in there, because it will get sorted out, and Trainz is an extremely absorbing and satisfying hobby, although sometimes it can be a bit annoying!

Maybe you should go through the whole process of downloading just one small item (ideally with no dependencies to complicate things) from the DLS, to make sure that the basic process is working OK. Once it has been downloaded, you should be able to see it under either the "Today" or "Open for Edit" tab in CMP. BTW doing a global search on your computer may not yield results, as things are stored in individual folders in the Local folder. Warning!: Don't interfere with the Local folder, it's very sensitive. Hope this helps. If it doesn't, someone else will get you going soon.

It is more than annoying right now but thanks anyway.

Hi Rusty1955,

Have a look in your CMP settings / miscelaneous to see if the commit automatically box is ticked, if it is the downloaded items may already be in your 'local' folder. If commit automatically is ticked go back to the main page in CMP and click on the 'today' tab, this will list any items that have been dowloaded today and you will have a smaller list to look through than the main list.

Think I have this figured out, maybe. I retried to download the routes that I had chosen. They didn't work when trying to D/L them all at one time. I tried separately and found that one of them, "The Coast Line" gave me a message: "No download URL. Not found on DLS." the other one, The Branch Line" had so many missing kuid's that it would not load properly. I finally got The Rockies to download and load like it is supposed too.

Yup, I stayed up until 0300 trying to get this problem solved, maybe...

o0o been there done that! :hehe:

Glad you solved the problem, Rusty1955! As for missing items, that is always a bit of a hassle. Sometimes you have to search other websites to find a lot of missing items. Often they are found on sites as TrainzProRoutes or VMD or the likes. But if it's a good route to begin with, it can be very rewarding in the end. :)

OK, glad you got something to dowload, now you can get some sleep and try again tomorrow. Missing items can be a bit of a pain but once you get used to the workings they will be a bit easier to find.
