Routes by Deadpool. (large shots)

You seem kinda shut off on the matter :o There are loads of people close, the same or maybe a few greater route builders out there. It also depends on how you like you detail. I reckon deadpool's scenes are just right up your alley where as some people might like something different, like me. I prefer this sort of detail: http://hostthenpost.org/uploads/40ab6007f1a5b81a6f64151e7a981f57.jpg Or maybe you just haven't seen it all yet. That one up there is mine from the Aussie Screenshots thread and heres one from the European trains thread with even more attention to detail than me: http://i103.photobucket.com/albums/m137/R_E_N_F_E/enb2013_10_17_14_7_18.png
Saying someones the best kind of lets the rest of down, don't you think? ;)

G'day Deadpool, love the angle of that first shot in your last post. Very atmospheric with that view :)

Cheers
Stevo

You have a fine point. I'll shut up now. I usually keep half a roll of duck tape over my mouth, where the heck did that go? I do the dumbest things when it's off.

hey now, as much as i appreciate the sentiment, I'm going to have to respectfully disagree on all terms. I'm not trying to out do anyone or be compared to anyone. I'm just here to be me. not better than anyone person. we all have our strong points, i just worked harder at being a well rounded route builder at any era/climate ect ect instead of being pigeon holed into one lets call it "genre". but others such as Andre have focused most of their skill and modeling into one specific era and do an AMAZING job because of that.

I'd just like to know:

What Version of Trainz?
Are these (or this) a drivable route or diorama? (I believe the former, but wanted to be sure)
What trick do you use (Or what computer are you running) to be able to coat hills with trees like that?

I ask out of total desperation because when I tried to "forest" hills on my route like that it made TS12 repeatedly freeze up for a minute or more at a time every time I moved the camera view.

For the record it was one texture over and over, and one tree over and over...

(If you feel disinclined to divulge the recipe for your "secret sauce" I understand...)

I don't know about the US but over here the joins in rails (usually welded) are spray painted yellow, I assume so their easy to identify for maintenance. Maybe thats the same thing going on there

I think they're to mark where a train must stop behind, if it has to, so that it doesn't block up a level crossing.

I must say, the routes look good, but the screenshots look a little over concentrated. Is it your game settings? Or do you edit your shots to look this way? To me it just looks a little, off. Not trying to be mean I am just asking.

I have a question. How do you get grass to render so well? When I ever i use like JVC or FMA splines or statics they just dont look right. They get a funny border around them i dont notice that on yours. Anyways greating stuff as always, can't wait to see more.

Good luck, when I ask these questions they either go unnoticed or are just ignored... :(

Well it would depend... What kind of graphics card do you have? I would try playing with the settings for it. Most notably AA (Anti-Aliasing)... Try using different graphic tunings on your graphics card. If you need help, just let me know!
