Route merge

Having got the Edinburgh-Dundee route downloaded and cloned for editing I was disappointed to see that the system does not allow merging with the Edinburgh- Kings Cross route, stated reason being "the underlying route is payware and therefore cannot be merged", (or words to that effect). Is there a way around this or do I have to change trains at Waverly or Haymarket to continue my journey?

All or any help/advice appreciated.

Now we can edit payware routes. I want to be able to Merge.

Editing is nothing to me. Cool, I made it 19 standards, sometimes devs couldn't do, but a pleb did in under an hour. (Example: Coal Country)

I wanted then to add it to my layout, as I quite enjoy JR's Module type routes. So I wanted a nice little extra miles of some coal. NOPE.

I get its their form of DRM. But it can once again like a lot of things in Trainz, can be done much better...

Allow us the merge, but still have a value that when you go to press Upload to DLS you get blocked. If Export CDP, blocked. Make that the DRM of not being able to share it. But you NEED to allow us to merge.

Because I am already starting to not care about any other route, because I can't merge it or expand on it, so why bother playing it. I like a sort of 'Mega' layout of various modules/themes. N3V shuts down that dream faster than a wife pulling the plug on her husband for life insurance.

WOW - what a quote! My partner and I do not have life insurance (why give your hard earned cash to the bottom feeders in the insurance industry) as we have other means of ensuring the economic well being of the other "better half".

As for the DLC no-merge issue, merging other peoples layouts to my own or to others is not something that interests me particularly as it has more disadvantages (height differences, texture and scenery mismatches, etc) than advantages - but each to their own. I suppose that eventually something will be done in this area but I suspect that it is not high on their (very long) list of priorities.
