Roundhouse and Turntable Dilema

Hey guys,
I have been working and working, trying to install a roundhouse and turntable to no avail. Very frustrating. Does anyone know of a video or written instructions for working with these wacky assets that seem to have minds of their own?

Any help ya'll can give me would be hugely appreciated.

Short version: turntable first, it has a "dig hole" and is limited to its placement, then follow up with the house/shed. Due to the need to place a visual thing subgrade or make a "hole" through the baseboard some assets are locked to the grid, turntables are one such asset. Trainz uses 10m x 10m "dig holes" and hasn't updated this with advances in the terrain, as originally one manipulated the terrain in 10m squares, then it was made 5m, and finally apparently 1m.
Want a dig hole? 10m still...
Frustrating for sure... but that's the way it has "always" been. I recall there may have been some workarounds, I believe they didn't last long and probably were broken with a patch.

Then there are usually some specialized stub track pieces that connect to the round table tracks, to which you can then connect the tracks to the roundhouse and going away.

Then after you've attached all the sub-pieces, aka the little stubs on each approach of the turntable, don't move the turntable otherwise everything will fall apart.

You can remove the dig-hole from the turntable allowing you to place the turntable anywhere. Doing so removes the depth underneath the turntable, but sometimes it's worth doing that anyway.

To remove the terrain snapping, you need to change the following line in the config.txt.

from
snapmode 0

to
snapmode 1

I recommend cloning the turntable you want to use.
Change the username in the config.txt file to something other than the original name to make the asset easier to find as well as update the tag.

Thanks for the tips!!! I'll give them a try. (y)
May not be relevant for you, but since nobody has mentioned it, for HD terrain there is no need for a dig hole, giving greater flexibility for turntable placement. I have a couple turntables on the DLS explicitly made for HD terrain. This allows you to use regular textures and other scenery objects in the pit. The turntable apron still exists but can be much smaller.
