Roundhouse AI

Guys,

I'm not sure whether this is the right forum for this....but here goes, Is it possible to "finish work" and go to a roundhouse and automatically locate a vacant bay and the loco will go to that first vacant bay??????

Any thoughts

TIA

You can send it "Drive To" a trackmarker inside the roundhouse (you might have to extend BNSF50 Invisatrack out through the roundhouse back wall quite a bit).

An AI loco stops short of a trackmarker by 20 meters.

No, as the turntable has no way of knowing how far to turn to reach the bay. Yes you can place TM's and use drive to trackmark list for AI to go to a random TM or to first available TM. But this requires AI to have direct access to the TM's via junctions and not a turntable.

I think you can use a combination of rules and orders to keep track of what stalls are empty, then move the turntable to face an empty stall, but I also think you will need a huge number of rules to implement such behavior.

Hi

The only way that I know of doing this would be by using the SCS2006 rule which is unfortunately broken in TS12. Using SCS2006 you would be able to allocate a YES/NO variable to each stall in the roundhouse where Yes would indicate that it was occupied and No that it was vacant and then by using "If" conditional commands check each one in turn looking for a vacant stall. When it finds one it would move the loco onto the turntable, rotate the turntable to the correct stall and then move the loco to the trackmark in that stall.

As I mentioned, the rule is broken in TS12 and also in TS2010 multiplayer version but works fine in other versions from TRS2006 to TS2010 pre multiplayer so if you still have TS2009 installed you could experiment with it in that.

Regards

Brian
