Rotary Dumper

What is the trick to getting the thing to work, there is no horn nothing but a smoking stack, I have put the cars in there every which way but no luck,
Also will this work with the Blast furnace so as to feed it Ore, thank you.

On the Download station search for the route:

"RotaryDumper"

and the sessions:

"RotaryDumperSession"

"IndustRail 4a Rotary Dumper".

There is also a session for Krashnburne that uses the dumper. And it's configured for use in Krashnburne MultiPlayer.

Thanks Phil, have seen the vid and like I say I can do the same with no results, have your 4a but cannot find missing stuff on the next to worthless DLS that can't find it's own way out of a wet paper bag, and if I use 8a etc once out of AI I have no throttle.

I'm not quite sure what you mean by this.

Do you mean "I've set up the dumper in my own route but the coal hoppers will not dump coal"?

If that's the case you need to configure the dumper. Go into Surveyor, click on the "Objects" flyout, click on the "?" and then click on the dumper.

In the new screen configure it to consume the maximum amount of coal. You can play around with the initial quantity - the safest is to set it very low.

Thanks again Phil, that is exactly what I did, I noticed it has a red line like an invisible track in it, do I need to use it on it's own special track too?

Phil I just tried to edit it through surveyor as you said, but was unable to as no box or anything comes up with options, did notice though in Main Menu it shows up as Rotary Car Dumper 11 rather than 1, could this possibly cause the problem?

I'd suggest downloading the "RotaryDumper" route and the "RotaryDumperSession" from the Downlaod Station and fiddling around with them to see how the session is configured.

Good question. Even without the rotating couplers, if you could drag a string through there, stopping each car in place for unloading, it would seem more realistic. (once you ignore the doors closing on the couplers)

According to what I have read and seen it is only one car at a time, when the horn sounds you back the car in center it the horn will blow again, car is now uncoupled pull consist or loco out so far dumper then dumps etc, like I said I have no horn nor can I edit it as Phil said no new box pops up.

The reason it would not work for me is it is not configured for Iron Ore, just for .......and grins I hauled coal to it and it worked flawlessly,don't know why I never thought of that before,guess the thing is smarter than I am lol.
