Reverse Engineering (no pun intended)

Not confused. I was told to add the "Bendy" tag to the 2D people by um....I think "The Drake". I know everyone insists it is for splines but in 2004 previous to adding the tag they were not able to be tilted, and after, they were. Go figure. The old forums are gone, but I remember alot of discussion about getting trees to lean, and telephone poles as well.

You are all just trying to "Gaslight" me, aren't you?

Ed

Hi Ed, other,

To get scenery objects like people, trees and so on to tilt/roll sideways you need to use a tag like this:

rotate-yz-range min, max
eg: rotate-yz-range –90, 90
Where min and max are values in degrees. This tag lets you set the roll / yz rotation range (normal object rotation is an xy rotation). If you want your scenery object to support rolling then use this tag to set the minimum and maximum roll range. By default, objects have a min/max roll range of 0 to 0.

The Bendy tag has always as far as I been able to tell (which ain't that much LOL) only worked on splines in allowing them to sort of bend into curves at each segment/end point that is in the mesh.

But Ed, your post has made me decide to go check it in TRS2004 next time I open it - maybe I learn something new about that program, which is always fascinating as it helps in a way to understand the Trainz World better. :-)
Now, to figure out how to get part of the gnd file into gmax... ;-)

Best wishes
