reskinning tga

i have a problem. I'm trying to reskinn a rollsign of one of jeffmorris rollsign with irfanview but when i commit it on the cmp and it stills says Error: Could not load texture 'C:\Program Files\Auran\TRS2006/local/content ra8vtxmr204\nycta_r40mgoh_body\sign05.tga'. what can i do to fix this error? someone tell me how to do this please?

Check the file size of the original and your edited version. The usual problem is you saved it compressed which is not what Trainz requires, save it as uncompressed.

Which graphics editor are you using? Some save as compressed as the normal default.

Question about applying textures to objects.

How do I lock a texture to a specific face of an object.

I have an object that needs two different colors on it's faces. I texture one face one color and then texture the second face a different color. It shows OK in blender but when I press F12 it renders the whole object the same color.

I hope there is a simple answer for this.

If you are talking Blender then be aware that the exporter only supports UV mapping not the internal colours in Blender. So just use a texture file with two different colours in it.

Let's start slowly which kuid are you trying to reskin?

Normally you would open the .tga file with something such as GIMP, paint.net, paintshop pro, or photoshop. You change the image in some way then save the file as uncompressed .tga usually there is an option when you save a .tga file.
