Reskining Question

NS Lafayette District WIP
Hello, I decided to try my hand at reskining today. I am reskining the JR GP38-2 to a Kankakee Beaverville & Southern Paint scheme. Though the KBS only has the GP38M-2, the minor changes are barley noticeable. I have two questions though...

1.) How do i make the handle bar texture on the handle bars. (Am i right that i have to bump them and if so what is the easiest way to do that?)

2.) What is the easiest way to get the company logo onto the locomotive.

Here are some pictures that will possibly make my questions easier.. :hehe:

Also, any Criticisms are welcome although keep in mind that this is my first reskin and there is still much work to be done and some spots to touch up.!

Cheers,
Brandon

First of all, what editing program are you using?
As far as the logos go, I normally google them. Exsample: BNSF logos and I'll choose the one that I think looks the best. Then save it. Open it, in my case, GIMP 2.6 and size it using the scaling tool. Open your loco in your editing program, open your saved logo, grab it, move it onto the loco. There is a tool on there, I can't remember the name of it, but it looks like a cross with 4 arrows. You can use that tool to move you logo around. If your logo is to large, close without saving. Go back to your logo, edit it using the scaling tool til you determine the right size or the size you think is correct.
I should have went a little larger with my BNSF HIII logo, oh well, whats done is done.
Good luck!!

I am using adobe Photoshop elements. It came with my computer. I tried doing a Google search but because it is a short line, no logos came up, i guess the next best thing for me to crop the logo off a picture of the locomotive?? If i can find a logo that works, i will defiantly try your approach because your reskining is superb so I know your doing something right! :)

Thanks,
Brandon

Thanks! Any pic/photo will work. As long as you have a basic outline of it because you can change it to what ever color you need it to. And you can save any pic you like and just scale it down. If adobe photoshop don't work, I'd suggest using GIMP, only because I know it works really well for me.

Take a screenshot of the sign at the top of their webpage. It is in a Flash element so you can't simply save the image from their page. Check your PM.
