Request for Bendorsey.

heres my idea (im a bit of a kitbasher, so my mind is always thinking of things like this)

basically, the on-comming train trips the trigger at the same time it trips the bridge mechanism, so that the cars will be allowed to proceed when the bridge is lowered

Thats pretty much Greek to me, lol. The method I have uses triggers added to the invisible tracks in the water to stop trains crossing the bridge. Autos will stop automatically since the bridge is made as a mocrossing.

Ben

Well, this system is used to stop cars only if the bridge is made to be raised when there is no train traffic on it (like your other bridges)... i'll through together one that will stop trains if you include the third track for boat traffic that acts as a crossing

This bridge will be normally down. Please remember as a mocrossing its designed to activate at the approach of a train - but in this case the "train" that activates it is a boat on the invisible tracks in the water. Like any mocrossing this automatically stops the auto traffic. The extra stuff is necessary to stop a "real" train that crosses the bridge. Its a bit of a kludge, lol.

Ben

in that case, it will be a simular set up, excetp the triggers will be on the invisable water track, in addition, the inverse slaves.....will be just plain slaves...... am i making sense?:hehe: If it sounds like im rambling, ill post another pic later

Your not making any sense (but its not your fault). I simply have no idea what you are talking about because I almost never run Trainz to run a train. All I use Trainz for is to test items I make in Gmax on a single blank baseboard. Rules , trackmarks, etc are meaningless to me as I've never done any of it (and probably never will).

Ben

Sure. I'm going to have a README file in there already with the instructuons on the method I've used in the past with bridges like this so I can add the info for your alternative method to it. My e-mail address is in my profile.

RATS!!!

I have the bridge in the game. Its not animated as yet. Making certain everything else is correct before tackling that. Got to comparing the photos with what I've made and realized I have one end completely wrong. Its not a symetrical bridge. Back to the (Gmax) drawing board, lol.

I'm defiantly going to download:D
But you said you would include a read me in a file with it. How would i access that if it is from the DLS, or is it form an external site and in a folder?

The README file is in the folder you get in your downloads folder after unpacking the CDP. When you first unpack it- jot down the kuid number so you know what to look for in your downloads folder.

I just finished uploading 4 versions:
1. Long with streetcar tracks on the upper deck.
2. Long without streetcar tracks on the upper deck.
3. Short with streetcar tracks on the upper deck.
4. Short without streetcar tracks on the upper deck.

They are all animated but for some odd reason the automotive traffic doesn't stop. I think it has something to do with the length of the bridges. I've made bridges like this before and the auto traffic does stop but they were far far shorter. Might have something to do with the mocrossing code in Trainz. After all mocrossings are quite short. I'm taking advantage of the built-in code to animate them without a separate script file.

Hope they are what ya'll had in mind (I had to make a lot of compromises).

The Steel Bridge 1, 2, 3, and 4 but 4 didn't get looked at by the automatic checks. Hopefully it will the next time but I have other items that have been sitting there for weeks. Auran is aware of the problem.

1, 2, and 3 are on the DLS this morning.

Ben

Ben,
I almost forgot to thank you.
I have downloaded them, but have not had a chance to use it(them) yrt.
Kenny
Thank you.

Thats ok. I'm trying a new approach to getting number 4 thru the automatic checks. I got it cleared from my pending folder at Auran, incremented the version number (from 1 to 2), re-made the CDP, and re-uploaded it this morning. Hopefully this will sneak it thru, lol.

BTW I uploaded the Tower Bridge in Sacramento, California this morning. Its not animated tho for poly-count reasons (too darn many).
