Removing ARN?

I am reskinning a locomotive, particularly the MP15AC. I have Volusia's reskinning files. However, the locomotive has ARN included. How can I remove it, or am I stuck with it.

The problem is that I only need one locomotive, and the font used is different from what's included in the files.

IS there a way to remove ARN from a locomotive?

Thanks for the help.

I always create my locos and rolling stock and make the ARN a separate attachment, that way the ARN can be easily removed. However, after looking at Volusia's MP15AC loco in PEV's Mesh Viewer, it appears the ARN numbers are part of the main mesh, therefore (and someone correct me if I'm wrong) there's nothing you can do about it.

Regards,

Dave

Dave,
Thanks for the answer. I guess I need to see what other switcher I can use instead. Maybe an SW1500.

Wouldn't removing the ARN stuff in the config file prevent them from showing up? The attachment points would still be in the mesh but would not be acted on.

Just a thought.

You're right, Ben. I removed the number extensions and the Arn_Lib kuid number in the Kuid table and they didn't show up on the loco in surveyor. I guess I WAS wrong!

Thanks Ben,

Great.

I think this works because when the error checking finds an attachment point in the config file with no corresponding attachment point in the mesh it generates an error.
On the other hand it couldn't care less about attachment points in the mesh that are not listed in the config file.
In this case you could even put ARN back since the attachment points are still there.

I've been able to play with this and now have the MP15AC in my own railroad's colors, without white squares or X's on it.
