hi all,
i'm running 06 when i reinstall do i install patch first then copy local folder or

Hi Patchy,

I usually install, patch then import all my backed up content. Find it patches quicker that way. But I wold think either way is fine.

Cheers

Trent.

I'll second that. A large local folder will triple, quadripple the patch time so patch before you reload your local content.

I haven't been able to get TRS2006 to run the past two days, so I plan to reinstall it as well. I assume the "local" folder is all of the assets I have downloaded or created? I don't want to lose everything, and I do not trust it NOT to mess things up, so I want to back up all of this content.

Thats right. Find your local folder and copy it to a safe location. After you uninstall use a registry cleaner to make sure that nothing is left behind. Re-install TRS06 and then patch it, copy your own local folder back into the Auran/TRS2006 folder and then delete the assests.tdx file. Sart your game and wait a while for the library to re-build itself and away you go

If I'm lucky, I won't have to reinstall after all. After two more efforts this morning to get it to run, the third time was the charm. I was so paranoid I left it up and running all day, just so I could get as much done with my layout without another two days of no-go.

Thats good news. If your installations starts playing up it always worth deleting the assets.tdx file in the existing installation though and forcing the game to re-build the database. This can often solve many 'non-start' problems and wont delete any of your existing content.
