Hello everyone!
I have been playing on low settings for a while after getting a new computer, and now I'm starting to wonder if I could do better. Obviously I've tried higher settings, but setting everything to maximum made the game essentially unplayable. Just wondering if anyone who knows far more about this game than I do might be able to give some suggestions. If it's important, task manager says my CPU is an 11th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-11400F @ 2.60GHz. I know practically nothing about performance, so any advice would be appreciated.

Is it a laptop or a desktop? Your CPU is desktop.

If it's a desktop then under the developer tab you'll see profiler. If it shows 25-30 fps you're doing fine.

https://online.ts2009.com/mediaWiki/index.php/Help:Video_Settings says a GT980 should be set to high. It has about the same score as your GPU.

Draw distance can impact performance so don't set it to 15k but try something a little shorter first.

Remember the content makes an enormous difference. Try Middleton for laptops and compare the performance against some of the more recent content with PBR textures. Use manage content, right click an asset then open, preview asset and look for the poly count and LOD on the top right. In general I avoid anything that doesn't have LOD.

Have fun

how much vram does your card possess ?, I run 2022 pe on a 1660ti with 6gb vram, this is the laptop version which is not as powerful as the desktop, if you have the 6gb 3050 , its specs are about 30% less than my card, so you may struggle to use higher settings. also your screen resolution settings will also make a difference to performance https://www.tomshardware.com/pc-com...y-level-gaming-gpu-fails-to-outperform-rivals
