Really Nice Signature Banners

I have to admit that I like to have fun with "sigs". Now I know some folks don't like them, and that's understandable, but as I have said before; to me a good sig banner is like an old "Burma Shave" sign! When I see some of the old sigs around here, it's like seeing an old friend.

Personally I like to make sigs that will make people chuckle, and I change them often. Some folks like to advertise their businesses or websites, and I did that before as well, but mostly I like to poke a little fun now that I'm in my feeble, ineffectual years. Maybe humor is my self defense against getting beaten down by life, but it's fine by me for the time being.

I like to use movie banners as inspiration for my sigs, but it's not easy to find a picture that will translate well to a 800 X 100 space at 30kb or less. It involves a lot of noodling with Paintshop; resizing and cloning and exporting to the web optimizer to trim the bytes. It can be tough to make a jpeg look nice in the size stipulated by the forums. It does take some time, but I've always been the type to try to follow the rules. I don't know, maybe I'm too timid for my own good!

Anyway, there sure are some fine sig banners on the forums, so I thought I would share some of my favorites, just as they appear here everyday. Feel free to add your own favorites if you like:

Despite your comment about adhering to the dictates of the COC, it is obvious that none of the sigs you post are correct. I sometimes wonder why you and I should try to stick to the rules when others are allowed to break them.

There is one user around here, bearcat245, who will tell you if your signature is outside of the boundary specified by the Code of Conduct. It is always good to have some one who is that adherent to the CoC and who will help enforce its rules, which probably does help the moderators a little.

Some from the psychology field (BTW, never flowered, always muddy) would tell us that is what the never-become-a-policeperson's syndrome consists of.

I have always liked Gfisher's "Loops" sig, and this thread reminded me of an old one I made that I liked. It's cheesy and silly, but I dig it.

What? No,...say it ain't so! Are you saying that NONE of those sigs I reproduced are in the correct parameters for length, height, format or number of bytes? How could this possibly be? Are you suggesting that after ALL THIS TIME, there are still some forum members that have not read this post:

Are you implying that after reading this post some forum members decide the rules don't apply to them, or they are somehow "better" than the other members of the forum? Are you relaying to us now, SIR, that it's okay for some forum members to upload sigs that are "a little" higher or "a couple pixels longer" or almost twice the size stipulated by our beloved AJ FOX? Is THAT what you mean?

While you're busy checking everyone's signature out for compliance with the CoC, can you perhaps find time for doing something constructive? I know it's not as much fun as satisfying your anal retentive obsession but, what the hey, you might like it.
