Reading & Northern 2012. Large pictures + videos

Awsome shots!!:D

The track you use in the yards, thats not jointedrail's is it? could you tell me where you got it?

Cheers
Stevo

Search "TSM" on the download station. They are by "urman_diesel". I think they are great! There is a large selection of both concrete and wood tie'd track. They have some issues with LOD settings, but overall i think they are a great contribution to our Trainz content. :)

Once again, great work, man.

You said this will run on TS2010 with compatibility mode? If so, will it run under TS2009 SP4?
Also, any progress?

As of today, this beast of a route is scenery complete. All that remains is working on signals, speed limits, object and place name labels, and bug fixing and minor touch-ups.

Here are a few newer pictures showing the northwest section of the route. I'll try to keep them in order, from Tamaqua to the end of track on the Shenandoah RT.

Northbound heading up the steep grade approaching Tamaqua tunnel.

Approach signal for EMX at milepost 102.

Small secluded house and lake.

EMX (without the flying super-bunny ;))

Long curve on the north side of Mahanoy Tunnel.

Land of endless coal tailings.

Mahanoy City.

Continuing west...

Second half...

Mahanoy City yard, used only for car storage now.

West end of the yard. ICG Fly Ash off in the distance.

Economically depressed village of Gilberton. The town used to be surrounded by several collieries.

Splitting the crossing.

Deep in the woods. Hi-Rail on the M&S branch (not currently modeled past here), train on the Shenandoah Running Track.

Mahanoy Plane. Still really like this scene.

Through the trees approaching the Girardville coal loadout (and end of the line).

Entering the loadout tracks.

End the line. The tracks disappear completely into the weeds and forest a couple hundred feet behind this picture (no longer reaching the town of Shenandoah).

Hope everyone liked the shots!

Man I love your route! Great job. Keeps getting better and better. What is the name or kuid of that track your using with no ballast? I've been looking for something similar.

Thanks! I love the track. It can be found on the DLS if you search for "TSM" or "urman_diesel" as the author. There is a wide variety of the track available; both wood and concrete ties, with and without ballast of varying colors, and rusty and shiny rails.

That being said there are also a couple issues with the track. The LOD settings are a little funky and can be easily visible. Also, the track is actually Russian, meaning it is about 3 inches wider than "standard" guage. This isn't really noticeable though unless you go looking for it though (particularly from head-on views of cars).

Work continues on the route meanwhile. Adding and updating foliage and reworking the Little Schuylkill creek/river.

I'll take a look at them. You've got the right idea with the track though.

Like I've said I've been looking for something similar for over 6 months but just can't find anything that quite suits me. Currently I'm using the newest track from JR it's really nice but it just doesn't have that branch line feeling.

That's Great News Roon. *brohoof*

I can't wait for it to be done; I've been waiting since 2008! To celebrate:

A Fictional R&N Green Goat and 55 ton Coal Hoppers! Gosh you have come a long way since the beta.

Roon,

This is a very stunning route. Do you plan to release it this week? We can't wait! :udrool::mop:

Well, seeing he released it on USLW, it could take a whole extra week. You know how fast and orderly the guys at uslw are.

The old version was from Port Clinton to Mahanoy. It's the full version of the route going all over the Schuylkill, Carbon, and Berks Counties. I think Roon should list the dependencies we'll need here so we won't have to scour the internet looking for them as soon as the route comes out.

I hope so because that is gonna be ALOT of stuff. Also, I'm gonna need to find some RBMN diesels and equipment because all I got is the 425 and the excursion coaches.

There's an updated R&N SD40-2 on uslw.net, the same site where the route is going to be hosted. There's also one on RRmods that's high quality, but it's payware...

Congrats on the completion of your route rooneth,
It looks drop dead stunning,I still run your first version of this route on my 06 instill on occasions one of me top 5 must have routes.

Andrew.
