Reading Line 2.0 screenshots! (56k warning)

Could we have a re-name-able one please? :) -Chris

It's something i have been thinking about too...and we might just be in luck.
I'll see what i can do about it tomorrow.

It might end up being a box with a renameable blue sign, or a plain box, and the nameable sign separate. Either way, i don't think we can use the original models since, as i said, i have no idea who did them.

Whoever asked about the Reading T1, it is available here http://www.paulztrainz.myenet.info/inside/T1.htm It comes in #2124 (the one on display at Steamtown Scranton) and #2102 the one owned by BM&R/RBMN. 2102 used to operate between Temple-South Hamburg as well on excursions over Conrail to Allentown-Jim Thorpe (this route), and Philly, Harrisburg in the 80's. On the Jim Thorpe runs #2102 and the black tool car ran over to Bethlehem to turn on the wye and run back to Allentown to fetch the coaches parked on the track curving north toward Jim Thorpe. There's a video of those excursions I found at the train meet one time. At the time of the excursion in the video (1985), my father was alive working at Bethlehem Steel, he passed away March 1986. They showed #2102 and the tool car going past the Bethlehem Steel plant to the wye which was active at the time.

The abandoned warehouse in Fleetwood...
Mabey you could get the tracks to look like they were paved over.

Does someone have any layouts of the Reading & Northern lines or can someone do a blank DEM map for me of the lines from North Reading to Port Clinton-Pottsville-Tamaqua-Shamokin-Jim Thorpe-White Haven-Pittston-Scranton-Mehoopany? Roon, do you have anything? I just grabbed the excellent locomotives for Reading & Northern from the DLS. I also have the Reading #2102 T1 model by Paulz Trainz which is owned by RBMN. And I reskinned a 4-6-2 Pacific into RBMN #425. Would the custom station creator be interested in building a RBMN Port Clinton station, South Hamburg station, and Jim Thorpe CNJ station? You may contact me at rwk9024@msn.com if you wish to send me any files.

what, on the4 DL page? or forum?
If i was given time, i'd do a RBMN route, but i already have 2 routes in the making(still being DEM'd)
if somebody could send me over a DEM'd RBMN route, i could give a crack at it.

Awhile ago I made the entire BM&R dem for myself. I can't seem to locate it now, but I can see about re-doing it if there is an interest. This map covers a lot of real estate if you want the entire route.

Yeah, i used to have a copy of the R&N area DEM too. The thing was huge. I even had Tamaqua partly done (mostly for a friend).

Unfortunately it didn't make the jump over to this computer...

Anyway, time to work on the "new" Buckeye Pipeline siding and surroudning area.

Ok, so no pictures of anything, but today while looking, i found my old DEM map of the Reading & Northern (minus Lehigh Division). If possible, we could put it up on the USTrainz site for download. The map CDP file is over 30 megs itself, so you can't email it.

Also, for those who were interested...i found my old Lehigh Line route as well!!
That might become available for download too! :)

P.S. Working on getting another video of the Reading Line made. If i like the results, i should have it posted in a day or two.

Hey Josh,

Do you want the DEM for the Leb. Valley. It's the entire branch from Rdg to the Harrisburg yards. It also includes the R&C and the Cornwall branch. I filtered it down to about 2 full boards on each side on the right-of-way, but it's still 155 megs. Send me an email with your address, and I'll send it off if you're interested. I'll only send the gnd file so you can create it with your own KUID.

155 megs?! My email can't handle attachments over 10 megs. You'd have to upload it to a website somewhere. And the only thing i can see doing with it would be to add track and signals of the major NS line(s) and then make that available for other people to add scenery. I barely have enough time to get the routes done i'm working on now, but i like doing trackwork, so....

Hey Josh,

Yeah, I know it's big. I was going to snail mail it to you if you could use it. No biggie either way. I always do my DEMs in the highest resolution which puts the weight on, but the detail is worth it.

I can't promise i'll work on it anytime soon, but i'll PM you my address sometime. Always good to have local DEMs just in case :).

And....today was a SNOWDAY in eastern PA. Snowed-in, so i spend hours upon hours on the Reading Line! :D

Here are a couple teaser shots of some of today's work! (i'll post the others sometime later in the week, when i can put them on the UST site instead of imageshack)

Took a little inspection train out to see the new areas. Here it is just west of CP Burn, heading west, passing the old Reading Railroad East Penn Yard (and a little MOW train).

A couple miles down the track, the train is passing the (relatively) new three-track siding for Buckeye Pipeline. The tank farm and siding were added by Kevin, i did the scenery (and balloon! :D).

It was a good productive day :).
