Random Faulty Assets

Hello, all.

I have a select bunch of assets that become faulty for no reason, then show no errors or warnings. Once i check for these "errors" the assets become usable. Why is this? Here's some of the items that do this:

"BR(W) Bauxite 20T Toad Brake Van Fitted" (<kuid2:142268:15085:1>) - Trainz Version 2.9
"WD Austerity 2-8-0" (<kuid:122285:700>) - Trainz Version 3.5
"WD Austerity Tender" (<kuid:122285:701>) - Trainz Version 3.5

Again, why does this happen? It's very frustrating. Any help on how to fix this is greatly appreciated.

Regards,

Not something new. The same thing happens to some items in Trainz Mac 2 (it always end up being JR rollingstock that I find, but there's bound to be more). No idea why it happens, but at least the process of 'fixing' is easy.

Cheers,
SM

Run a quick database repair and see if it that works. Something could be flaky here which is triggering that problem. If anything run the database overnight as there is usually a long data validation that kicks in afterwards and this will allow this to complete unhindered.

I will remind you, as it did happen to me recently. Ensure that your Microsoft updates are set to manual, or manually update before running the repair process just to make sure there are none that need a computer restart. I had a reboot in the middle of the last repair I did and that caused a worse mess.

Windows update....

Check for updates and install updates if there are any.

I have had this problem too - more than likely caused by quick or bad shutdown - when Tane restarts it sometimes does not do a validation correctly or a recompile of scripts, this resulted in mostly JR assets coming up with an error.
Running another database repair generally fixes it. However it does seem to be a longer repair process which makes me think that Tane must decide for itself that the system either does a quick or in-depth repair based on issues.
