I am working on a session involving a local freight setting and picking cars at various spurs along the line. In order to make the session more unpredictable (and - in my opinion - more interesting) I would like to insert a certain randomness as regards to the type of cars to be delivered and picked up.
I have somewhat managed to resolve this by using the "un-portal" rule:
- the arriving local is chosen at random among 8 different consists entering via a dedicated trackmark
- I have placed a trackmark at every spur, and at game start a random consist is emitted, hauled by a loco with the following orders "decouple loco"+"delete train".
All this works quite well, but doese anybody know if there is some less baroque way to implement such random placement?
