RailDriver Desktop Train Cab Controller adapter

I just got a heads up on RDDTCC and I thought AWESOME, but then it says you need to buy an adapter which deflated my balloon as I think $350 is more than enough for the product to come with the adapter included. I have never spent that much money on a game aid before but was actually thinking about it, but to get the adapter on top of the base unit is going to add to the cost. Does anyone know what an adapter they are talking about would cost in North America or what type of adapter they are exactly talking about?

Ok I am guessing it is the 12 volt wall wart power adapter = and in fact you do not need it if you do not want to - its used to power the on baord sub woofer that vibrates the controller when you plug it in to your sound card - if you do not want this function you do not need the wall wart.

The controller has a sub-woofer installed....outrageous. Totally cool! Thanks for the reply. So now I need an argument to convince my wife to allow me to dump $350 on a toy.

Or maybe buy it directly from ExtremeGamingDevices.com (Raildriver's recommended Canadian reseller) for $229.95 + $25.00 shipping. Save ~$95.00. I am assuming that's Canadian Dollars (since the company is in Canada). Probably still need the power adapter though.
