I haven't seen this myself, but I have seen pictures of it. Sometimes, when an industrial switcher such as a GE 44-tonner is sold to a new owner, it will be transported on a flatcar.

(The reason for this is that it is not geared for the speeds at which a modern freight train travels, and just coupling it into the train could damage the traction motors.)
