R38 1966-2009

As everyone knows the R38s run has ended. They had a good 43 years in service.

FARWELL R38s :( :( :(

Nothing lives forever

I wonder if the NYCTA preserves cars like the Chicago CTA does. The CTA has some cars well over 50 years old in operational condition for charter trains.

Plus the more famous cars get bought up for museums like the Illinois Railroad Museum. Hopefully a few 2200 series get preserved, but for now, they are still in service, despite being nearly 40 years old.

They'll probably be running for at least another year since CTA is only recently starting to get it's new cars for testing. I hope they'll preserve some 2400's as well, as I heard they are also set to be replaced!

Both were set to be replaced, but even the new order cannot replace them with CTA's expansion plans. At least that was the belief last I heard

Klinger the NYCTA has a few cars and have Fan Trips and has a station in Brooklyn were you can to down and see everyone for a fare and other things Mario :)
