I've been playing TRS2006 for a while and making some content of my own, and I love the game. I've downloaded A LOT from the DLS and other sites such as TPR, sporbust.com, 30ng.webs.com, and RRmods. However, I have looked through the PDF user's manual and have downloaded and looked through the CCG, as well as looking on these forums, and have not found answers to several questions I have.
That said, I hope I can get help from the members on this forum. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Here are my questions:

1. I have Trainz on my computer, which has no internet. The only computer I can use with Internet is not TRS2006 compatible, so I have to download from the DLS via direct FTP link instead of with the Download Helper. This has worked fine, but on my other computer with Trainz on it I have made content that I want to use, but since I am the only one using Trainz on that computer due to the lack of internet, I have a different User ID on there than on here. This is a problem because I want to upload some of my content to the DLS but the KUIDs are invalid. My question is this: how do I change the KUID of something (for example a paintshed reskin) from the CMP? I have tried before by editing the config.txt file so the KUID matches my ID according to my Planet Auran profile (obtained by using the other computer), and as soon as I did, the asset said that it was missing the dependancy of the KUID I had just changed it to.

2. I have read many reports and posts about how reskinning is easier than creating your own PaintShed template. However, I have witnessed many users who do not want to use gmax to reskin because they either are not technologically inclined, they are too lazy to learn, or they cannot access gmax. This has led me to want to create my own PaintShed skins for Trainz users to use. So, disregarding all difficulties, how do I create my own PaintShed template for TRS2006?

3. In addition to wanting to make my own PS templates, I would also like to modify existing ones. For example, I'd like to modify the F7 template to have animated trucks and change the locations of the boxes in the template (I don't know how else to word that), and maybe change the horn. So my next question is: how do I modify existing PaintShed templates?

These are my questions, and I would really appreciate it if they could be answered.

First one create the item then open it for editing and copy the folder. Next change the kuid, now import the new folder back into Trainz.

Follow the tutorial on reskinning. Note all you really have to do is clone the item then edit the .tga file with something like GIMP or Paint.net. If you want to get fancy use Paintshop Pro or Photoshop they make a couple of things easier to do. There are other graphic editors but these are the simple ones. There is no requirement to touch GMAX for reskinning, reskinning is changing the texture file only nothing else is touched. You must have permission from the content creator to distribute a reskin.

Not only is there no requirement to use GMAX for a reskin normally there is no GMAX source included in the package for GMAX to do anything with.

Three how do I create a paintshed template? Well it is technically doable but the one person who did it said never again afterwards, the effort involved is very high and striaght reskinning is easier than paintshed.

Start with Blender and the tutorials.

Last one how do you modify an existing Paintshed template? You don't. You an change bogeys etc by modifying the config.txt file.

Well I am a bit disappointed about the alleged difficulty of creating a new PS template but I'll take your word for it, I have read about whitepass's creation efforts and I'm actually using both of them.
What you said about changing the KUID, reskinning and changing aspects such as bogies really helps, my thanks.
