Why does the Trainz forums not have a "Dirty Section? " Alot of other forums do. I belong to a forum where you can only get a password from an administrator to access that part of the forums.

I like to think that Auran refuses to give into the gradual, but inescapable erosion of civilization.

There’s the “Everything Steam” thread in the screenshots section which gets pretty grimy!:D

Joking apart, the answer could be that most members probably don’t want it.

If you already have access to something similar do you really need more on this site, which caters for all ages?

Vetting by “administrators” takes time. I’m sure their energy is better spent on more pressing matters.

AlI IMHO of course!

I Think you will find that most civilised people have no need of a "dirty forum" or want it and can live without it.
Besides the forums belong to N3V, not the sort of thing a respectable business is likely to provide or should and is of no relevance to a train simulator.

At the risk of sounding dumb and green, can someone explain to me what a "Dirty Section" is? I hope your not asking for what came to my mind as there is plenty of smut out there if you need that sort of thing.
But then again we do have Lamp post Linda, although I think she was banned and withdrawn. ;)

Been a Forum member for many years , and this has to be the silliest request , suggestion ? I hope the Mods do not give this any type of consideration !

My thoughts ---,dlr

I've been working on a really weathered up version of a crummy. Is the dirty section where I post screenshots of it? I think that's about as 'dirty' as we want to become around here and I'm sure that N3V takes that stance. Go elsewhere if you have something else in mind.

Considering the number of young Trainzers (some quite possibly as young as 9 or 10) I think such a section is absolutely wrong plus the code of conduct specifically addresses this. Other then heavily weathered locomotives and ground textures "dirt" does not belong in Trainz. Lamp Post Linda was initially approved and on the DLS for download but when someone complained it was offensive to them it was quickly removed. Overkill perhaps but better to be safe then sorry. Kids get exposed to too darn much smut as it is day in and day out. It has no place in Trainz.

I am a Moderator on a couple of other Forum-type websites (NOT Train or Trainz related) and over the years I have watched them change from "no profanity allowed" to the point where almost anything goes. I have sent warning after warning to the posters about their language, and even the Site Managers agree with me, but nobody does much of anything anymore. It's just like on TV. Years ago, you couldn't say George Carlin's "Seven Words You Can Never Say on Television" but these days practically every show uses whatever language they want and nobody bats an eye. It's just like Ed said... it's the gradual erosion of civilization. I guess some people think EVERYBODY uses those words.

I know those "Dirty" sites "provide" more than profanity, but I for one can certainly live without it. And I think most Trainzers can, too. Besides, you can tell when someone writes something in these forum pages and they are just dying to use a "cuss word" or two to get their point across. I'm grateful the Mods here won't allow it.

Cheers,

Dave

Count me with the majority of the above posters. It is not needed or wanted on these forums. Someone is always pushing the envelope. Perhaps we can stave off the erosion of civilization until there are too few of us left that care.

New websites.xxx will be up soon.

If people need that.... well, I hope it satisfies their needs.

Trainz is a world that does not need adult type forums and thankfully, N3V will not allow that.

I applaud the Mods who keep it that way.

Why do you want a Dirty section? This forum is fine and fun as it is I hope that does not change.

we had an "Off Topic" forum many years ago but it became so hard to moderate that the admins decided to get rid of it. As there were too many trolls/wafflers/etc. and the topics turned into flame wars/politics/etc.

Hmmmm

Since you obviously have a lot of experience in this area, and probably belong to numerous "Dirty Sections" on other sites, I would respectfully suggest you go back to them. This would allow the rest of us to enjoy a wholesum and fun activity with out your participation. :)
