Question about the DLS on My Trainz

Hey Everyone is there a way to search just for Australian Layouts , Loco's & Rolling Stock

ever since the website was updated there was a button you could click on & be able only seclect items for australia

i had a break from driving trains due to having problems installing Trainz A New Era when it first came out & it just sat on the shelf ( till i was playing with a beta copy of windows 10 ) since i moved to windows 10 i've had no problems installing Trainz A New Era where on windows 7 i had a lot of problems trying to get it installed & ended up giving up trying to install it

now i got windows 10 & been able to get it to install / work now i'm back to getting content but only looking for australian layouts at the moment

Alas no. The original DLS (back in the early 'naughts) had an option which allowed you to search for a particular country, but not any more.

The TANE CM does have a "Region = " search but that only locates layout regional settings such as left hand drive cars, etc. Even if it was possible to search assets using the region setting in their config.txt files, it would rely on the content creators using that setting correctly. Besides, there are many assets (including some rolling stock items) that are "international" and a county specific search would miss them.

But I take your point, it would make it easier when you are creating a country specific layout.

No, unfortunately. However, try searching for VR, NSW, NSWGR, SAR, and QR and that should lead you to quite a few Australian routes. Most are for TS12 and below although they work quite well in TANE. Also try Southlines, Illawarra, Oxford to Queens and anything by PGibbons and Ntesdorf. Hope you got Goulburn Murray lines up and running. Some of these may need environment settings reset to default in TANE.
There are also a few 'coming soon' routes in development some of which will be on DLS. One I am waiting for is the Orbost to Bairnsdale route on Australian Trainz Division, there is also a WA route in development and a couple of other Victorian ones in progress. I have just started a huge project of Cootamundra to Violet Town which will take between 6 months and a year to build and test at the rate I'm going. There should be a route by Tanvaras out in the next few weeks hopefully. Plenty to keep you occupied in Australia.
