Question About Kuids

Are kuids like pieces of sheet music that we can trade around? Can we make copies of them to give to other individuals? I'm asking, because, like many of you, I'm looking for (you guessed it) kuid:96914:504872 and kuid:96914:504862 that are not faulty. Don't suggest Subpar Productions. As the name suggests, it only has the faulty ones. At least they are free. I guess you get what you pay for. And Ben's locomotives are so beautiful. I did manage to download the Heavy Mikado. It doesn't need those kuids. It runs and looks so great.

The 862 kuid is missing 2 textures (r/click on the asset in cm and view errors+warnings). His 860 asset has these 2 textures, copy and paste them from 1 to the other.
Not a clue with the 872 kuid, I must have fixed that.

A kuid is the id of an object in Trainz. The first part of the number is the person who made the object. The second part is the unique number of the item in question. Every object has a unique kuid or else Trainz would not be able to recognize and display it. Some are free, given to the community by their creators for the enjoyment of all. Most of these are stored on the DLS, others are on private web sites. Others are payware or donation-ware, often because of the extra work and effort that went into them and because they are usually of higher quality. Whether free or paying, it is usually suggested to get them from original sources. These often require some sort of registration to download. It gives the creators some support, even if only moral and ensures you get the real deal and not possibly a cheap imitation.

Thanks fran1. I tried it. Both 862 and 860 now have the exact same set of textures. The 860 is fine. The 862 still is listed "faulty". I also copied and pasted the texture.txt files along with the textures. Perhaps I should not have done that. Was I supposed to change anything in the config.txt file? By the way, if I could get this to work with 860 to 862, my guess is that it will work for 870 to 872. They are essentially the same.
