Jeff must've given up on the site after all. There's not much you can do except maybe check archive.org for anything that can be downloaded but don't count on it.

I think a lot of his non-DLS stuff is vaporware now and you will have to look for equivalents elsewhere. Some of the free downloads don't work on wayback because you need to be logged in to see them and the site is gone. I guess if you missed the stuff when it was available you are out of luck. For example, the DL&W electric set, and the LIRR and PRR MP54 sets were also made by Steve Lerro at K&L Trainz so you can get those versions. Well, he has DL&W open window coaches in other sets like Reading and Northern 425 and Middletown and Hummelstown sets. Nobody ever made the now retired SEPTA Silverliner II's in Trainz, except Jeff and I have no idea if he ever released them or not. There was a screenshot of one on his now defunct site.

I apologize for bumping this thread, but I am sorry to hear about this site being gone since I was a member on there.

I should've held on to Magicland's old Amfleet I coaches (the non-DLS versions with interiors), the Amtrak lightweight coach, and the bilevel Amtrak coaches. At least I still have the Amtrak F40PH (Phase IV) and the NCPU cab cars (Phase III & IV)

For the most part, I have anything I've downloaded saved on to an external drive. This is fine if I can copy the stuff over. I had his stuff downloaded and installed in my old Trainz content and lost it all, including my Trainz install, when my hard drive died suddenly due to a faulty power supply.

I was lucky that I had a backup of my Trainz data but unlucky because I lost Jeff's content and never went back to get it again.

Hi, This is Jeff's daughter. My father who ran the site passed away in July of 2023 from Pancreatic Cancer. Im so sorry I dont think I kept access of the site. I could try to look into getting things back up and running as I currently still use his computer. I am currently a college student, but will graduate in the spring so will hopefully have time to look into these things for people if needed.

Sorry for your loss. Jeff made a bunch of trains for Trainz. A lot of his stuff is on the DLS so it's safe but there were some things that were only available at his external site. The problem with Wayback archive is that it doesn't always archive the actual files and some secondary pages. It's hit or miss. And of course, sites where you needed to log in like Trainz Pro Routes which is defunct now you won't be able to access the files on Wayback. Trainz lost a bunch of content creators like elvenor, bendorsey, jfweaver, and others.

There are a couple of possibilities. First as executor you can give permission for others to reskin or upload the work to the DLS. That is the simplest, second if you have his computer and start Trainz then there is a good chance his userid and password are embedded. Once in, in manage content, on Filter select mystuff then you can right click an asset and select upload to the DLS. You really only want to upload the latest version so custom filter to select the author then obsolete=no.

Third you can pass me the .cdps and I can host them on jatws.org. If you want fancy then I can give you a folder on jatws.org and you can web design to your heart's content.

Cheerio John

I have no words. I loved his models, especially the trainmasters. He shall be dearly missed.
