problem with the MSI 8800GT

I have been buying XFX video cards because of the double lifetime warranty. All you have to do is register the card within 30 days of purchase and you have a lifetime warranty and if you sell it to someone else, you can transfer the warranty to them.

Heck, with MSI (and most reputable manufacturers) you don't even have to register. Just keep a copy of the sales receipt in case you need warranty service. MSI replaced a mobo for me once, didn't need the receipt, but I had it if they asked. Of course, since the mobo had a 3 year warranty and hadn't been out for 3 years, they pretty much knew it was still covered (this was during the "bad caps" time, when most manufacturers ended up with a bunch of bad capacitors they'd purchased for a 3rd party which ended up on tons of products). And "lifetime" is a laughable concept in computers. By the time anything is 3 years old, its pretty much outdated and ready for the scrapheap.

finnaly someone who at least likes MSI.i also i have to admit thier warranty is not so good but is easy to do it.tthe video card comes with a serial just enter and your down.in stead having to register then accept and those other things but with MSI all you need is a serial key

I've got the same video card, haven't had a single problem with it, and it kicks butt. Stays nice and cool, and the big ol' fan is pretty quiet. Have you tried hooking your monitor to both of the connectors on the card? Some times one of the ports won't be active at boot, so it'll look like there's no video signal.
