Problem with drawingHD terrain

Hello,
i have problem with HD terrain. When i creat a hill and move with camera to distance. The hill is deromated and smaller or completle disapear.
Do you have some solution?
Here is screenshot of my problem. Thank you!:)

HD terrain does not increase the size of a baseboard which is still 720m x 720m. It does increase the resolution of the grid which can lead you to believe that you are creating large terrain features when in fact they are tiny compared to the overall size of the baseboard. It takes some getting use to start scaling your terrain work up relative to the size of the grid.

Of course, but when you look closer on the first image (which is same hill like on the2 nd image) you will see the rails levitating on the hill. Its like kind of rendering problem or something like this.

The terrain appears to be culled.

What are your draw distance settings?

If you believe this is a bug then you should submit it to the dev team. I've not seen this behavior before myself. HD terrain is procedural terrain and at a distance it does reduce its resolution but it should do so in a graceful manner leaving the terrain with a smoothed over look. Your terrain becomes a series of spikes. Since this looks like a test route it should be easy to submit the route to them so that they can examine it.

I made a test route to study what is going on here. The route is a 3 x 3 layout using HD baseboards. At one side, I made a hill of about 30 m in height and ran a section of track along the top of the hill. I smoothed the terrain under the track so at a close POV the track is resting on the hill's ridge. S2 reports the track to be at 36m on the z axis. There is also a small terrain feature I created on the side of the hill that is about 3m wide.
I slowly pull back the POV by moving the compass and quickly the 3m terrain feature melts into the surface of the hill. The bulk of the hill remains intact.
As I pull back more the features of the hill become more angular and at about 2K the hill becomes a series of spikes with the track hanging above them.
Before I get to the edge of the layout, the hill disappears entirely leaving the track hanging in midair.

This shows me that the HD terrain is using a built-in LOD system to reduce resolution that is not effected by the draw distance setting. I had my draw distance set at 22K. So, is this a bug, I think the devs will say no. It is doing what it is designed to do. Is HD Terrain useful for creating grand scenic vistas, clearly the answer is no.

Hi Dawe10
HD Terrain is progressively reduced in detail/resolution as you move away from it, so as to avoid performance issues (this is the equivalent of LOD/'level of detail' systems, to reduce detail, on other object types in Trainz). To do this, Trainz has to 'average' the height of each vertex as it reduces the detail; if you have a very narrow, tall, 'bump' in the terrain (ie a tall, narrow, embankment) then as it reduces the detail this may become narrower or lower. Generally this won't be too bad on most routes (since embankments will tend to be wider at the base, and generally on less even terrain), however in this case as you have a fairly extreme example it may become lower/smaller in the distance. If you do believe this is an issue in a completed scene, then please submit feedback via the bug report form above so that we can look into it.

Regards
