Problem with Content Manager

Just bought a new computer--good specs etc. Transferred TS2009 file to computer--all OK. In Content Manager wanted to change an engine sound but can't seem to access config.txt file. On my old computer which still works I would ask to edit in explorer and the details would appear and updates can be made.

I have done a database repair--no change. Old computer was XP new one windows 7.

Also tried content creator plus but seems to cause content manager to freeze and will only open once you've closed content manager.

Any ideas??

Cheers

In Win7, you need to install, patch and run as administrator, this is required even if using an Admin account. Right click "Run This Program as Administrator" or set up in properties. Running as a normal user in most cases you can't save settings, open files etc especially if you have installed to program files.

Thanks for reply. I have done this and I was able to access the config.txt file and change . However, when looking again in content manager the changes are not there. It shows in CCP but does not update. The changes are saved or so it says.

There is obviously something I'm not doing--any further advice gratefully received.

I ended up setting my user account to have full access (read/write/modify) to the entire Trainz subfolder.

Sort of the brute force approach, but I didn't want to pay the extra bucks for Win 7 Pro, which has a much better security management interface system than Home Premium.
