Why do some people never answer their Private Messages? Seems to me that it's just common courtesy to at least answer, even if the answer is "no."

Just my opinion......

They probably forget to check the little box in the upper right corner. The forum should give an indication that you have a new PM when you log onto it.

I don't usually have that problem. I don't know the answer to this, but are PM's to a member blocked if you have them on your ignore list or they have you on theirs?

There is an option in the User Control Panel that when enabled causes a message box to pop up when you receive a new private message. ;)

I never look either as I never expect to get one. If it just blinked, then it would get noticed.
I prefer to discuss problems in the open forum as many minds make more results, these results can then be searched for at a later date.

I only pm when I need to ask the user something its odd to all of a sudden, start saying to a user in the middle of a form about fct or something. Its very award to me, therefor pm is useful sometimes.

The pm side of Beattie:hehe:

PM window notification pops up right on my screen, dead center, when I log on to the forum ... but I guess I have made settings so that it does that.

I think a lot of people just miss them. I know I have. I don't get any kind of pop up. I have to be conscious to check the upper right corner.
