One more time slowly... :)

World Builder is really Trainz 2009 with "some" new content and most of the previously released content.

TEE includes lots of never seen before new content and doesn't include Surveyor.

If we had just called it Trainz 2009 I think it would have been easier, but then people would have said "but where's all the new routes". Then we would have said "coming in TEE".

In spite of my previous post, I have now given in and pre-ordered.:o Why? Money! Or rather the thought of saving 20% on TEE. As our biggest supermarket chain (Tesco) says - every little helps. :D

I agree Tony, Trainz 2009 would have been better. Then you could have called TEE Trainz 2009 Extraz

Hi

Why not charge a little extra, call it Trainz 2009, and download TEE as a Ruddy big patch :D

Cheers

Really! Take a good look at the latest "Newsletter" if you want a laugh. Apparently TRS2009 will run on the same minimum specs as previous versions. And how well do they run on min specs? Those are put on the box to get the punter in I guess. Try running TC3 built in routes on those spec. TRS2009 with more detail and greater polygons allowed will maybe grind along at 3 or 4 fps. The idea the content from earlier versions of TRS can be imported easily ain't so either some inbuilt TRS2006 locos show up as faulty in TC3 and cause fatal errors and crash to desktop, chances are the same thing will happen in TRS2009.
Comments Tony?

OK I have Caved and pre ordered, probably not a wise thing.I had Classics 3 running and then went the "add the patch" and now I've binned it.As I did the uninstall and reinstall several times as others are having the same trouble with etc.
Now I've read tonight the 2009 release will be released with a patch following to fix small problems. This is where all the trouble starts in my opinion with the processes in installing the patches seem to mess it up more than original problems.

Ok, I read explanations like this en masse around these forums, but what isn't mentioned anywhere (but interests me the most) is :

- do future game updates enhance both, the WB and EE editions ? (the announced "graphics, physics, ai, etc." updates from the product description of EE or are they handled separately)
- will the new content of the EE version also be available in the WB version ? (wouldn't make sense not being able to place them in surveyor, but I want to be sure)
- will the WB and EE versions share a single content database or do we need twice the space ? (one DB for WB version and one DB for EE version)
- will the EE version upon installing simply extend the WB version ? (so we do not have to switch games between editing and playing)

I'd really like to get to know some more details before I place my order, otherwise I'll wait until both versions have been released and someone wrote a detailed review.

Why not just create a side by side product comparison chart, listing all features of both versions (additionally to the text version), because pagewise text leaves too much room for speculation.
A definite included features list makes things clear.

To add to Mr Jingles.

I was hoping that if you did purchase the two, they would somehow combine into a single program. Similar to an update version.
A good example would be the 'Age of Empires' series.

Here is a good point: Will the two combine into one program when we have them both?

Because there are two seperate purcahse to have the complete experience of TRS2009, I am unclear whether this is a good purchase.......

Why people pre-order this in the first place is beyond me. This version is developed in such a short a period of time and only beta tested by the community itself for less then a month. How on earth wil it be possible to release this game without major problems when a decent release, that took a year to produce, already wasn't exactly flawless. No nickels for Auran from me untill they manage to fix the previous versions. They owe that to the people who paid for those.

delivery question

I live in Texas, but am scheduled to move to Europe on January 14th.
I want to order the DVD now, but the "scheduled to begin shipping in December" remark has me worried that if there's a delay, I won't receive the DVD before I leave.

Tony please, how certain is it that delivery will take place in December? (No, I do not want the download version.)

Alternatively, will I be able to get this DVD version (us) delivered in Europe (Germany)??

Some answers to recent questions:
  • December delivery for DVD - fairly certain. (Note that even on a slow connection it will only take a day or so to download).
  • Czech delivery costs = E6.95
  • French language - initial release is English only.
  • Multi-language version will be available in January 2009.
  • Remilliard - we are fixing the problems of the previous versions. This is called software development. Each new version (in theory) is better than the last. The revenues from each version help fund development of the next and better version. By withholding your nickels you are ensuring less thiings are fixed for the next version.
  • When TEE is released it will install on top of WBE to make one install. Otherwise it will run as a standalone program. So it is both an expansion pack and a standalone.
  • This means that all the features in WBE flow through to TEE (except of course for the Surveyor features which are not included if you have TEE only). If you have WBE and TEE you have both feature sets.

Any first class freebies with this versions, Tony?:hehe:

Good to know for any future investment in the product!!

Thank you very much for the input on this, Tony. This was one of things I was going to ask. ;)

Hey J.

Good luck with the move ... :)

Also, Tony, I was wondering about the same thing because I am going to pre-order, still, I am in not in any rush to get it but since Auran lately have experience some delays with stuff, as I have read from the forums, I would like to know as well!!

Thanks
Ish

Does this mean I should not have pre-ordered TS2009 now? I understood that it would be multi-language from the start. I would prefer to use the German language, although I have given a delivery address in England.

Do I need to change the delivery address to my German one? Or will The multi-language part as a download to add on to the English version when it becomes available?
