Enzo1, some strong metaphors in your post - "crawl back under whatever rock", "the community needs a smack in the face" (I expect that the latter one was figurative only) - but I get your point. Perhaps too many of us have forgotten that Trainz (incl TANE) is a hobby. Some of us have taken it to be a "life and death" issue with the resulting flame wars. I do not believe that the moderators have been lax - they have given people a fair go and have stepped in when needed. Unfortunately, we have seen many more posters being far too aggressive lately, far more than normal.
All of my contributions to Trainz have been to the DLS and to these forums free of charge. I do not object to those who want to earn something for their efforts - but that is full of potential problems (issues of tax, ongoing support, etc) that I do not want and was the subject of another thread. My reward is knowing that I have helped others and contributed to the community. Perhaps we should leave it at that for all contributors.
Hi Pware. I'm glad that you see my side. I do not dislike anybody in this thread, and really there are only a couple people I dislike at all in this entire community.
The latter is figuratively. I feel quite strongly about this, as I have great hopes that the community can move forward with their lives, and personally would much I'm sure like the rest of us, see it done without much moderation at all.
However, as you mentioned, the community has become far more aggressive, and I think there are reasons for this, and I understand them quite well. However, for the community and TANE as a whole to move forward, the community needs to unite, and fess up that they made a big mistake. That's the goal number 1. From there, things can get much, much better, and I think the TANE experience will become much, much better. As I see it, I see nothing but great potential in both this community and TANE, yet all resources are being wasted! In fact, not even half of the resources have been tapped. However, just because I see great potential in TANE, does not mean that I am a believer of it yet, but with work, I think it is very very much possible that it could be a competitor against the likes of Run 8 and TS2016.
I'm sure you seen at the end, the reference towards pride. This community has become too prideful, and forgot where it was once at, and furthermore forgot where it even started. Forgetting where you came from is a bad thing to do. Some very important people have been left out, and they are no longer a part of the community. This doesn't mean we can't turn it around and possibly get them back on board as well.
