Please, just how to change the track sound of TC3??

Hello railroaders!

For TC3 (Trainz Classics 3), the steam engine sounds are splendid, but the default track sound is far less realistic than my own track sounds source, (which were derived from a very early generation of trainz).
I've searched LOTS of CDPs, yet could not discover where the default track sound lies (which shall be replaced by mine!), so just where the heck is it hiding???

Hint: the tracksounds are built in dependencies and cannot be found in cdps.

There is a way ... but you can not open the file, as it is meant not to be opened, nor changed, and it is not easily changed except by the most experienced in Trainz.

I'm not at home right now but off the top of my head it goes something line this;

Find train car with tracksound you want to replace
Right click > view dependencies > show in main list
Having identified the tracksound and its kuid, open its (the traincar's) config file, look for that kuid and replace it with another one. Don't forget to update the kuid list at the bottom as well.

It is with the JR stuff. I once tried swapping it out with some Russian sounds which had brake squeal. Things may be different in TC, as it belongs to the previous generation of Trainz (before 09).

it is packed in *.ja archive. In TS2009 and later in Data.ja, may it be in earlier versions too.

Use tag

-disablerailjointsound

in trainzoptions.txt for disabling this sound...

Look for kuid:353138:1525 delete and track sounds gone Hope it works for you. Sorry this is for TS 12,
