interupting a download requires complete un-installation of that version of Trainz

A download may take 3hrs, 8hrs, 14hrs ... who knows, but antivirus should be turned off, and it is better not to use your PC in the meantime while downloading, or applying a SP

Downloading overnight while you are sleeping is the best way.

I really can't be bothered to redownload it. I will write it off as a waste of money and stick with TRS2009.

The new Helpdesk system should do, although if that fails there is an equivalent one on Simulator Central that may help (Customer Support link).
