Photo Locations

Hi I'm driving from LA to Vegas in 2 weeks, can anybody help me with some suggestions for Photo locations along the way. We're driving via Cajon and Barstow. This is our first trip to the States (from Aus) and any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

theres a lot of nice places in my home state, i love the redwood city , as well as the napa valley , but if you want to see some good rail action here in california , you should go around Glendale etc, i havent been to LV yet but i shall try

Cajon Pass is one of the (if not THE) top railfanning areas in California, if not the whole country. I've been there several times, and I didn't need to wait more than 15 minutes for a train (as long as there was no trackwork or anything). I know it's my favorite place to watch trains, along with Tehachapi. Cajon Pass can see 100+ trains per day, so there is plenty to keep a person busy there. And can't forget about Barstow and BNSF's yard there.
