It's the only steam locomotive I know of in the contemporary era that's built from scratch
I'm typically not really into British rail. But watching Jeremy Clarkson shoveling coal into one of these from London to Edinburgh has got me a little, interested. However I've yet to find one. Pointers?
Cheerio,
Nicholas.
Not really an awful lot like an A1 (trying putting the connecting rods on the centre driver for a start), but what the hell, I'm sure a lot of people will like it.I made Tornado for Trainz at the SI3D fourms. The pictures are here:
Paulz Trainz A1 Tornado is quite good, if you are looking for Tornado it's about the only decent one you can find at the moment and, indeed, it's better than doing without one!
That may be true, but the Peppercorn built by the A1 Trust is on a much larger scale of much greater complexity. It is in all it's rights one of the greatest pieces of British engineering in the 21st century.
Cheerio,
Nicholas.
How you can put Peppercorn and one of the greatest pieces of British engineering in the 21st century. In the same sentence, i don't know. :hehe:
For a start, the boiler I believe, isn't British! I believe it is german, because we [in this country] didn't and still don't have any facilities to design or build a bolier of this scale.
I don't know why you are telling me, i never made the original statement.
I never mention the phrase London & * * *, unless really necessary. :hehe:
To me the whole "Tornado" thing is a facile exercise.
IKB.

Last 2 pages of what?I made a Peppercorn A1 on the last two pages, and from that model I'll do a V2 of Tornado.
