PC Information Application - Version 2 Released

As indicated in the title, version 2 of my PC Information Application has been released.

Current feature list:

• System Information - will display information about your system including Operating System,Processor and Graphics card)
• Trainz Build Finder - this tool will search your system to find Trainz versions. Please note that it may not find versions earlier than TS2009 due to file naming.
• Patch Finder - this was originally only in the beta version, as I have now done enough testing on it, this is the first non-beta version to have it.
• Networking Component - this component is useful if Content Manager cannot connect to the N3V servers, as it can identify at which end the problem may be.

Differences from Version 1:

• New Interface - the tools are now stored in the Utilities menu.
• Enhanced System Information feature
• Patch Finder is now non-beta

I am still open for requests for new features, but be aware that I will be limited by system ability as well as Trainz abilities.

Please note that this version will automatically cause a UAC prompt in Windows Vista and 7. Please click Yes or Continue to this so the program can run correctly.

EDIT: I have now rectified the original link. Turns out it was a case sensitivity issue.

Hold it, guys. It was a case-sensitive issue. Here's the right link:

This is one of the reasons I ALWAYS use lower case AND underscores instead of spaces when I upload something. UNIX-like servers will throw up on your sometimes.

Thankyou Bill for posting the correct link for me.

I have now corrected the one on the main website page, and will correct the one above.

(and strangely enough, my webserver does have a form of UNIX running).

Due to an unexpected issue with the tool, can I request that other users do not download version 2 at this point in time. The original and beta versions should be OK. I'm currently in communication with HiBaller regarding the issues raised.

If you encounter a problem whilst using the tool

Please send me the required information to shaneturner12 <at> gmail <dot> com:

If it's network related (Patch Finder/Connection Check), send me a copy of network.log, which will be in the same folder as the .exe file.

If it's an exception, please copy this into a Wordpad document, then send me the document.

If it's information not being displayed correctly, use the Copy to Clipboard button, then send me the information from the Clipboard.

EDIT: For the network tracing to be available, the folder that the program is running from must be writable.

A further update has been released to correct an issue with the network tracing feature.

This update can be downloaded to overwrite the current version.
