Patching trs2006

I have just reinstalled ny retail version of 2006 and it obviously hardly works. I looked for patches on the interenet and one was more than 600 MB. Is there a safe way to bring it up to date while I await my preoedered 2010?

There is only one patch for TRS2006, namely SP1 (service pack one). However, it is vital that you apply the correct SP1 for your regional edition of TRS2006. In addition, the user-hostile SP1 installation procedure must be followed precisely.

On the TRS2006 main menu you should see a build number. Post that here and someone will probably be able to give you a link to the correct SP1 file.

All Trainz service pack files have two numbers in their filenames. The first must match exactly with your current build number. The second is the build that will result after applying the service pack.

Hey Joe,
It obviously fixed mine. I now get clickity click, bang, clunkety clunk, bang, with the occasional hiss... :hehe: - Seriously though, no it doesn't fully fix some sound issues in 06, but I'm happy and can live with 06 sound.

Seriously though, you'd think after all the excellent work they have done and put into Trainz 2006, you'd think they'd go that little bit further and fix the sound, it's the only thing they have to do, everything else is fantastic, it would be a completed simulator with the sound fixed...

Let's hope Trainz 2010 has no sound issues and has the same display properties as Trainz 2006, without silver land...
