I have been testing with the possibility of paid DLC Multiplayer Sessions on Trainz A New Era, as it haven't been done before. (Unsure if you not allowed to do so)
So far from my findings:
-Anyone can download and join the session
-People who don't have the DLC cannot see the DLC locomotive
Yet to find:
-If the user has the DLC and are able to see the DLC locomotive
-Finding a way to restrict players from running the session containing a DLC locomotive, i.e. A warning message saying that they don't have the DLC or kicking them from the game. (Is there a such session rule?)
As I am trying to explore these possibilities, I have multiple DLC but my main focus is trying to get a Multiplayer Session to run with the Nickel Plate Road highspeed freight DLC, If you are interested in helping please send me a PM.
If you are willing to test for yourself with some of your friends who may have the same DLC as you, I have uploaded an edited version of the Kickstarter County MP Session and in order to be (possibly) successful the Nickel Plate Road DLC must be purchased (All the assets are from the Download Station and no third party content needs to be downloaded).
As of other DLC locomotives, I am planning to do other Kickstarter County MP sessions with the Blue comet and the Duchess. As soon as I extend my library of DLC locomotives, I shall make more if there is a demand.
