hello,i use trainz2009.And i was wondering if there exists a organized list of all the contents in the game.I mean a list whit catogories such as:

-coal wagons
-locomotives
-oil wagons
-lumber industies
- etc.

Now everything is name orderd,so if you dont know the right name of wich you are searching ,you cant find it.

Hope some one can help me:udrool:

If you fill in your profile for location we might be able to point you in the right direction.

The DLS has filters for locos etc.

Ts2009 has filters as well. Do a search on category, then add in location etc.

I wish the search was a little less braindead. It only finds items that start with the text you enter; entering "158" won't find "Class 158", entering "Class 158" won't find "BR Class 158" and so on.

In TRS2004 you could select a company and/or region; but that's gone in 2009; not that it was all that accurate half the time but it was better than nothing.

That's not true,

I enter 158 in the name filter and get BR Class 158, Northern 158, Class 158 British Rail, etc.

I can also add a region or category or keywords if they have been applied to narrow it down.

Now if the creators haven't coded their objects to your satisfaction, you can add the relevant qualifiers yourself. Even in TRS2004, I remember rearranging the various categories the way I liked them.

Try keyword gwr it pulls in a fair number. Name 158 pulls in BR Class 158 for me.

The keyword bit is new and not all content is using it but it works fairly well.

You might want to look at search description on the DLS web site that works quite well as well.

If I enter "HST" it will jump me to the first mention of HST (BR HST Class 43) but is there a way to find the next match? Unless I've missed something; If I had a 'First Great Western HST' I'd not be able to find it by searching on HST; for example.

I have Trainz 2006 and after I download something I add "Flatcar:," "Boxcar:," "Load:," "Wheels:," etc. to the beginning of the object's official name. I now find the cars I want to use a lot faster than I used to in Surveyor.

P. S. If you do this and have two 3-unit well cars and/or etc. I title them with the type of car they are as well as a number and a letter. ("Well Car 1A:," "Well Car 1B:," "Well Car 1C:," "Well Car 2A:," "Well Car 2B:," "Well Car 2C:")

Ah, you're using the Search box. Try the filter box, select Name and enter "hst" I get 131 possible objects with the letters "hst" somewhere in the name.
