Only Blue sky seen in session

Okay, I admit, I am new to doing this and so this is probably a stupid question that has been answered---

I created a session in the "loops" layout for a westbound empty coal train consisting of A-B-B-A F-7s, and about 75 cars with a caboose. There are no gaps or oddities in the consist now, but at first there was a series of rotatinig "X"s over nearly every car until I fixed a few items. Now, I can enter, but when I go into driver, all I see is sky, no cab view, no zip. I assume that I may have picked a unit for my lead that is a AI unit only, but if so, how does one tell?

I also noticed that beside the session in the session list, there is a lower case "c". What might I have done wrong here?

I got that blue sky scenario once, but I can't remember what version of TS (think it was TS2009 though), and under what circumstances.
Have you tried running in the other mode (OpenGL or DirectX). Sometimes one will work better on some systems.
Also could be that your camera is aimed straight up into the sky, and for some reason you have no control over it.
Do any of the keys on your keyboard work during this situation?

All routes and sessions that you create will have a 'c' next to them to indicate that they are not builtin, as stated in your manual.

Maybe your "camera" is way off the board but why no cab mode? No loco selected somehow??
Try map mode (Ctrl-m) and zoom out. Is there a layout shown?

I believe that the first loco in your driver list will be the one that you go to when the session starts. If you're seeing nothing but blue sky, it sounds like a camera view that's gone zonkers.

You have to add a driver to at least one of your trainz. The initial focus will then be on the first driver in the list. If don't have any drivers in the session, you have to set the focus manually to a locomotive (using the find function).

Thanks

I will try those suggestions. I am using the OpenGL setting at the moment but all my other Train simulators use Direct-X which may be better. Only way to find out is to try it.

This happens if the first driver in your list has a derailed train when you go into driver. The derail may be caused by the consist being placed over incorrect positioned junctions. Try and move the consist to another location.
