Older Ships

Hi All
Looking for a source of older (20s-40s) cargo ships. Freighters, passenger, coal, just about anything. There are a number of very nice modern ones. Did a search at DLS for "Ship", "Freighter" and did find any. Saw a number of smaller ones, but am interested in the kind you would see in a large port like NYC. I am looking for a source of cotton for my old textile mills here in New England.

Look on DLS for SGV Steamships by "masontaylor". He has about 5 very nice ones up there.

I ran into the same problem a few days ago, but found some nice ones on that site here: https://www.militarytrainz.com/téléchargements

Especially the "Dunkirk page" got some - https://www.militarytrainz.com/téléchargements/dunkirk-opération-dynamo/

Here's what they look like, there are about 10-15 usable civilian ones available

Even though this seems to be a European ship page, I need some Lakers (AKA Great Lakes Freighters.) I have some whalebacks, and the FitzGerald, but I want some more generic ones, like the michipicoten, JB Ford, or EM Ford.

Yes. Milwaukee road all the way. I need it for a harbor/City layout.

(EDIT): I worship you, Whitepass

it’s just that the fitz is a 1950’s ship.

There are also tugboats on the DLS that maybe suitable. I can't remember the author at the moment and I'm not on my Trainzing PC to look up the Kuids, but search for tugboats and I think you'll find what you need.

Fishing boats and lobster trawlers are also available and very suitable since they don't seem to change much over the years.
