More pictures will be coming soon, but progress is painfully slow as I create, delete, re-create and so on, trying to get it as realistic as possible.
@ rjhowie - I would be interested to know what route the BCDR proposed to follow. With the advent of the railway to other places, like Ardglass, Donaghadee etc, Portaferry found its importance as a port declining rapidly. There was a campaign to get a line built to join the town to the BCDR in Newtownards, but it never happened. I didn't realise that a proposed route was ever published.
The old route certainly would not have left Portaferry in the direction mine does! I decided to imagine it catering for the tourist trade (as well as local transport) and so have taken it along the coast to the north of Portaferry, with a tunnel under the Templecraney area. At the moment I am working in the Abbacy area, where a Victorian farmhouse is built within the ruins of Ardquin Abbey. As soon as this is done, I will post some pics of it.
The next places of interest will be Lough Cowie, Ardkeen, Saltwater Brig and Kircubbin.
