NZ pics

I'll certainly try. They should be getting well and truly tested by then one would think. I know they were running up and down the Melling branch last weekend. There are some pictures floating around the internet and the Yahoo groups have been covering their movements very well. Lots of photos there.

Ryan

PS - hope everyone over in the south island are ok this evening.

Good on you Ryan. All the best with your trip to N.Z. If you are going to Wellington, could you please act as my industrial spy agent and get me some nice shots of the new Maitangi units.

Cheers, Fender :D

Hi Trevor,

The Matangi units are going to be on show at platform 9 Wellington Railway Station from 1.15pm to 3pm on Thursday 9th Sept. I will take a jaunt down to Wellington and see if I can get you some pics then. I just have to hope there's not too many people around so I can get some decent pics.

Cheers,

This Weekend

Electrification & double track is heading towards Waikanae. Seen here approaching Paraparaumu. The as yet unused wires wait new track, stations and trains.

Just south of Paraparaumu

I was looking at Trainzone and found Fender's newest work, so I thought I'd put on a heritage display at Wellington station. DA1471 heads a train of KP wagons!

Hi Bill,
I imagine the introduction/display of these long awaited units will be very popular, so don't worry too much if you can not get suitable shots. I recall when the Ganz units were first displayed, people were all over them like a rash, but the novelty soon wore off. Sooner or later, I will get some shots, for it is a must to model these in Trainz! Enjoy your day on platform 9 and don't allow anyone else to push you aside.
Cheers,
Trevor. :)

Where can I find these wagons?

Bill

Due to the recent excitement here in Christchuch ( earthquake) things got away on me and I failed to make my usual announcement. The models you now have are a beta version while I am working on ( in between aftershocks ) auto-numbering for these wagons. These Kp wagons are a first in a long list of NZR freight stock. I cannot hope to model them all, but will create the most popular. Note, these are for TRS2010 and 42" only, but will also work in 2006 and 2009 - you may need to download some of the commodity depenancies from DLS.
Cheers, Fender :)

Hi Fender,

I have some pics of the Maitangi Units. Send me an email or a PM as I have lost your email address due to changing computers and my forgetfullness in backing up my address book. There are also a couple of pics in the prototype talk forum.

Cheers,

Iam looking forward to these Fender. My favourite routes are your JLine & SGs Murchison. Your Wellinton line brings back young boyhood 1940s memories.
But just one question, why have you put the Boxcars and reefers in as track objects? I was trying to delete them as they were in the way of frieght that i had coming in. I found them in as signals/track objects. Now you must have a reason for having them in there. If not needed can I go into Route config file and delete Kuid? or just delete the objects? I am retired and live out at Oxford Nrth Canty, and missed the big shake but are still feeling aftershocks of course not like you are in CHCH.

Do any of you kiwi trainzers know how to contact Greg Baker? I have tried a PM and an email through the forums, an email direct to the address given in a config file and a message on his web page. I have updated a little steam loco of his to TS2009 standards and I would like to get his permission to upload it.

Cheers,

Hello Laird,
In response to you question:

But just one question, why have you put the Boxcars and reefers in as track objects? I was trying to delete them as they were in the way of frieght that i had coming in.

To delete these, open the route in Surveyor, select "tracks > track objects", then delete each boxcar. Save the route, then exit. Open the route in driver and the boxcars will be gone.

Cheers, Fender :)

Greg Baker

Thanks Fender, Its easy enough to delete them but thought they may have served a purpose.

Hi all

Just a quick trip to and from Johnsonville yesterday morning.

That sun would be terrible in real life...

That's 1 in 40 folks...

At Ngaio, waiting for a cross. Now excuse me, I have to dim that headlight before the other driver gives me a rather unpleasant gesture on his way through...

I thought it was time I contributed to this thread so here are some pics of the central North Island.

A mixed goods double headed by K911 and KA945 heads up the Raurimu Spiral.

Just a small request! The F class loco in the fifth picture has been updated to 2009/2010 specs and I have not been able to get in touch with Greg Baker the original author. If any one knows how or where to get hold of him Please let me know.

Cheers,

Hello All,
After looking and watching (and finally learning how to upload on Imageshack! :hehe: ) I thought I should post some screenshots (of probably the most modelled route in the country).

Two trains pass near Takapu Road in the rain:

The train pauses at Porirua:
