NZ pics

Hello all

I've newly bought the Murchison 2 route and have looked around it, and I'm amazed by the scenery etc. Not being a Kiwi, and having never been to NZ, I was wondering if the routes [the main and branch lines] are fictional or prototypical, as there are a lot of lines through the area?

I actually posted much the same question in the Murchison 2 thread, but possibly it may not be the right place as they seem to be mainly screenshots from the sesions etc.

Regards

Eddie

Morning all. Been a while. Nice shots of late.

A NIMT freight starts its long journey north

Sunday was Toast Martinborough day. The highlight for the railway photographers were the extra long Wairarapa trains, and the loco hauled Ganzes to Masterton. Train F03 with 4191 races through Solway heading back to Featherston to pick up drunks.

Having picked up a full trainload at Featherston and crossed Speedy's Crossing, the 1 in 70 climb to the Rimutaka Tunnel begins - notch 8 all the way for the DC.

Still climbing

To the west of the Rimutakas, we casually drop into Upper Hutt

All of the existing models which you refer to can be updated to run in 2012 - I run them all regularly ('though a really good DJ would be nice).

Hi all. Over the weekend trains were only running between Wellington and Plimmerton due to a derailment between Plimmerton and Pukerua Bay.
FP4155 Leads a four car Matangi set on it's way to Plimmerton, heading out of No 2 tunnel.

Short stop at Redwood.

Around the bend from Mana and we pull into Plimmerton where we will terminate back to Wellington.

Greens up for the crossover onto the downmain.

FT4103 Leads the Matangi set away from Plimmerton station.

The same seen a few years back with a set of EE's.
Seen here thundering through Glenside.

Spending a short time at Plimmerton before terminating back to Wellington. That's all for now.:D

Looking good everyone!

After a bit of a hold up with getting some of the features working, the USL is finally in beta ready to be handed off to the customer in the next few days. Time for a spin up Opapa...

Looking good William. I like how you have a model of DC4231 with its NZR logo still showing, I've seen the real loco and the model just looks fab. My Kapiti line route will also be available for download in a few weeks or so just to let everyone know. Cheers Jamie :D

I agree, the whole lot looks good. The locos, the track, even just the rolling hills in the background. Pure NZ.

Morning all

After the opening yesterday of the first extension of the wires since 1983, I got to do a trip this morning. I didn't need route training as I built the line!

The end of the double track is south of the river, a kilometre or so south of the station

Hi all,

I am new to this thread - only just found it yesterday!

I am currently working on attempting to model a NZ route with Trainz. I was wondering if anyone has come across or has made either a NZ level crossing approach X sign or a NZ speed restriction C & T board signs?

Any help would be much appreciated.

Cheers,
Alan
