NZ pics

Morning all

Here are some shots of 'my' last EE service to Melling. In real life the weather was fine and platform 9 was used, so I got that wrong!

The EE sits at Wellington, waiting for it's last departure with a couple of Ganz's watching on. The EE units have possibly seen some of its successors come AND go in its lifetime, if the Ganz's at Hutt don't get 'Superganzed'.

I could do a DEM map for you as this is an area i'm looking at doing latter, what areas and what gauge (trainz standard or NZR) are you looking at.

Unfortuantely, as far as I'm aware there isn't anything Auckland-rollingstock-related on the DLS yet, but as a start you could use the QR SX/SXV carriage set available on the DLS (which came bundled with my old copy of Trainz 2004). A reskin into Maxx livery would make them more realistic for Auckland but you can easily get by with their QR livery as an interm measure.

I've got a long-term project to also hopefully make the ex Westrail/Transperth ADK/ADB and ADL/ADC class DMUs which now run the bulk of Auckland's services (I have the outline drawings for both classes, and grew up riding these trains when they still ran here in Perth - I even once scored a cab ride in an ADK/ADB set in eary 1990!), but that is still a fair way off yet though (I've started working in Blender but I'm still learning the interface at the moment).

Hi to all

Didn't see this post before - Small world! I was in the same coach. I take it you were in the group down the drivers compartment end?

Nice work on those DC's William. :)

Hi there Rugrat its good to see you back and as for the pic you put up
well all I can say is WOW
I have not been able to find that container and as yet there does not seem to be a wagon like that on trains
That route looks cool mate
chris sullivan

Cheers guys - Chris the containers i am using are the freeware ones available at jointedrail (kudos to Joe & Kevin for all the skins), as for the wagons they are my WIP Uk's - they will probably come out at the same time as the Dc's... soon ;)

I'm doing NZR standard and what do you mean by DEM map?.

DEM stands for Digital Elevation Model - long story short they provide all the hills, valleys & general height for your route. A VERY useful thing to have when you are modeling a prototype. Also kudos to you nzld for offering to do one as I know all too well how much of a pain in the a** they can be, good man.

William :)

Ongarue route update

Arrival at Taumaranui. Note, this route-build is set in the 1960's era, hence still the old Tauma station - the present station was not built until 1974.
Cheers, Fender :)
