I would not worry too much about that, the contact on that 3rd rail is from under it. Also, stations like York Street and Hight Street have the 3rd rail on the platform side.

In Toronto the third rail has to be as far as possible from the platform. The third rail wouldn't fit under the station, anyway.

Ok here are the 2 stations I mentioned before. Note that the 3rd rail is "missing".

Also, the clearence envelope of B division cars (lettered lines) has the 3rd rail under the car while A division cars (numbered lines) have the 3rd rail outside the edge of the car.

It's a employee stop called Bolden's Landing so I wouldn't worry to much about people being electrocuted. If any passengers or people un-authorized to be there get shocked it's there fault lol

Very nice, do the IRT cars fit in those tunnels better then the BMT/IND cars?

They fit okay for me. IRT/BMT/IND cars make no difference.
