Youtube is being slow right now, but the westbound

Thanks guys!

Westbound 7 from Queensboro Plaza

Excellent work!

And, as promised here is the westbound

Ace is an interesting video. Something does not add up, it may be for some peculiarity of the L7 in that section. Is not too slow flows underground New York? Fast as I've seen was a speed of 35 M / H (about 60 Km / h,) thought they were going faster. How fast express train catches the two line and three? ie the highest allowed speed sections to make me a better idea.
Thanks in advance.

It's not too slow at all. I know the subway is likened to "rapid" transit and such, but not all sections of the system are 45-50 mph. The speed limits throughout the video are accurate, as they are taken from official NYCTA signal diagrams. The slow speed limits in the video are enforced due to timers. The trains *can* go faster, but they'll be tripped and the emergency brakes applied. At one time, not as many timers existed, but in recent years (since the early 2000s), many more have cropped up along the system (especially on express tracks), making the subway somewhat "slower" than what it used to be in decades prior. Honestly, it depends on what part of the system you're in. The 7 has those slow timers in that section because of the tight curves between Queensboro Plaza and the Steinway portal, as well as the curved approach from 5 Av to Times Square. (Plus speed is **heavily** reduced when approaching a terminal station)

Thanks Ace. Actually I was thinking that the peak velocity were not so slow (30 M / H which are 50 km / h, pretty fast). On the other hand I understand this should be so, I'm not a railroad engineer, but is 20 miles pretty fast in those curves. And your information is not arbitrary, but is taken from documents (something I forgot). Ultimately it is a speed determined by the peculiarity of the layout of the line in that area.
Thanks again Ace. I see that this project has you completely absorbed. It almost seems forgotten the BART project. Have if you can take a deep breath between each other, because you deserve it

finished in its entirety. Leads have been constructed to Concourse & Jerome yards, but the yards themselves have not been built fully yet. Same is true for Livonia & Corona.

Next and final line to be finished will be the (6) to Pelham Bay Park. Once that's finished, I will start on the yards themselves.

I have trainz classics 1 and 2 and I don't know how to download trains I try from the download station but when I click download helper it tells me error can you tell me how please respond

Hello 4621, first welcome you, wherever you're friend  .
Second, tell you that this is not the most appropriate place for your inquiry, we will continue by PM ;) .
Tell me what is the error message that gives the Download Helper (safe jumping a red bar with the message). And as soon as possible, I will communicate what I know :o.

Finally got a full NYCTA DEM map into Trainz and it only took two days :D

Now it's time to actually start building. And yes guys, the current IRT route will be merged with this route in a few weeks' time. Still got some kinks to work out.

Did you undercut the terrain in Surveyor for the tunnels and station box objects? Is that possible in Trainz?

Any plans to also create R188 and CBTC signalling for the Flushing Line?

No, I haven't got that far yet. I haven't decided what to do about the terrain.

I won't be implementing CBTC, and there's no demand for the R188 right now as the R142/160 are being worked on as we speak.

I see. When u say R142/160, does that also refer to the subcontracts R142A, R160A and R160B?

Since, in terms of appearance, I highly doubt that. Those subcontracts pretty much look alike and is more of a technical difference rather than looks. This should include the R143 as well since it's not that much different than the R160 from the outside and not that much different on the inside. I'm aware of the minor changes in appearance but I don't think it's worth making a completely new model \ train just for something that is basically the same thing. Unless they feel that it's needed for the shake of consistency.

But who knows...

I agree with him. Besides, the model CAN BE COMPLEX. Trust me, I've attempted to build a passenger train, but because of 'busy things' needed to take care of, it can be too difficult to build. 'A' needs to finish the route, objects and all other stuff first before he can do that. BStyles used to make the NYCTA cars (long back I think, mostly for another simulator called "OpenBVE").

NTTs and CBTC signals

Angel is correct. The subcontracts are not going to be their own trains. Since the R143/160 are similar, we are only building one model and calling it an R143/160 so people don't get confused and such. It will include all of the B Division route readings for normal lines (and a few GOs thrown in there); the R142 will just be that--it'll be a smoother and cleaner version than the one that's currently out by Alexander55. This will also have changeable destination signs for all normal lines and a few GOs. Where Magicland's R44/46 LCD signs only flipped between two destination readings, ours will flip through three destinations as such: [Trunk Line]/[Destination]/[2nd trunk line]. An example would be: "(2) 7 Av Exp//To Wakefield-241//Bronx Lcl". Of course the "2nd trunk line" changes with the direction of the train--trains heading to Brooklyn would reference the "Eastern Pkwy Lcl" instead of the "Bronx Lcl", naturally. I am currently working on the 142's destinations as we speak, and adding more destinations to the 160's, as Hurricane Sandy gave us some interesting routings.

Oh, and an aside about CBTC signaling and my decision not to implement it: In theory, I know what it does (it's similar to the way BART runs, except BART only has signals at interlockings), but from a Trainz standpoint it doesn't make much sense right now unless you're running 15 or so AI trains on a line. Coupled with the complexity of the subway outside of the (7) and (L), the heavy load a dozen AI trains would make on your hardware, PLUS the scripting complexities involved with trying to mimic CBTC as best as possible (computing distances, then trying to figure out what to do), it's highly unlikely that even a 50% accurate CBTC signal would be possible for Trainz.

That is epic. I love this thread. I wish someone can make the IND and BMT Lines (B Division). I love the L Train line.

I don't think I saw the update here, but according to the MTA, the (A) Far Rockaway Line is back in service as of May 30, 2013.

Just recently purchased and downloaded Trainz on the new desktop, currently running on an 8-core AMD and the new EVGA GeForce 780. Reinstalling content. Before I go dark again, a majority of the development will be worked on, on this new computer. Definitely looking forward to content creation again.

-No Updates yet, for the R142. Still acquiring textures. Once the A car is done, the B car will be a breeze.
-The R160 is also acquiring textures. Not as fast paced as the R142, but it's a start.
-A few new SMEEs, along with two new SMEE trucks are in development. I won't spill anything now, but once they're further along there will be an update.
-The Elevated and the Open Cut will be the final branch of the NYCTA Super Pack. After that, there will just be revisions and fixes to the original content to keep them up to date.
-Once everything is finished and security is willing, sometime next year we will begin work on PATH content.
