NYCTA! pics!

I used:
Platforms: "Platform Tarmac Modern with Edging Stones" kuid:179051:1297 or kuid:179051:1324. I cannot remember which it is--oddly they both have the same name on the DLS.
Yellow Fence: "Fence Coaster" (built-in)
Columns: "AJS Subsurface Columns Red" kuid:134105:3260:1
The track ballast ground texture is called "Ballast DGrey" kuid:98193:10646
The overhead sign is called "Subway Hanging Sign New" and is made by Magicland; kuid:58843:37018

But--aside from the fence, ground texture and hanging sign, why not use my platforms to create more intricate stations? :D I plan on re-doing the 42 St Shuttle stations using my station kit.

Thanks Eric! To be frank, the only thing that separates subpar content from truly excellent content is the dedication/patience of the creator, and really good textures. I've seen so/so content re-skinned to look truly impressive.

Also, why not go for a digital download, and then save the files on a DVD for future use, if needed for a re-install? It's what I used for TS09/10. I suppose it depends on the speed of your internet connection, but I've always felt a digital download is the way to go---quicker since most of us Trainzers are really impatient (yours truly included!) :p

Also, I'm taking a week or two off from NYCTA content/route building to focus on BART. Plus, I'm awaiting three books worth of single-line signal diagrams for the entire NYCTA subway system to arrive in the mail, so until then, I won't resume the project. I'm not at liberty to say who or where I found these books, but it's the culmination of a two year search and I couldn't be happier!

Also, I read a thread somewhere on the boards that answers the questions for those of you who have been asking about making my 2010 route available in 2009---the scripting and such of 2010 is that so you cannot back-date to 2009. I know they're similar, but most of the aspects of a basic 2010 route are only available for that version of the game. I've tried backdating several times for you guys, and I still get the same "error no map selected" message when trying to load it. So, when I get the signal diagrams, I may consider re-doing the entire layout in TS2009, so that you guys can enjoy it as well. Unfortunately, I do not feel like producing the full route for any version prior to 2009, so if you have TC 1 & 2, you won't be able to play the route. Like I've said prior, ALL of the content I'm creating is for 04 and above--just not the physical route itself. It was a sacrifice I had to make, and since 2006 is buggy and doesn't work on either of my machines, I'm going with 09 and above--I hope you all understand. But, if you have 04/06/TC, use my content and impress me with your creations! :D

Now, I'm going to eagerly await the mailman and maybe bust out some content! :hehe:

LOL i do plan on using your stations, but i'm going to follow the words of a wise developer and not over use them. let other people have a chance at using them. :) And thanks for telling me the names of the items i asked about. really appreciate it. :) :)

P.S.

On a smaller note Acelejalde i think you should revise your calculations for the Times Sq Station Shuttle connection. you can actually reach out and touch the uptown local trains when they pass by when there going slow. (well i can reach out and touch :) ) i mean by looking at the picture i say that you put te uptown tracks a little to far from the steel platform walkway. but that's my opinion

I don't mean to be mean Andres, but I don't think it's really necessary to quote a post that is directly above yours. Just a tip from a fellow trainzer in regards to forum posting ;) I look forward to seeing your creative mix of station building as well. You're pictures tell me that you're a bit more patient with route building than me :hehe:
Eric :)

I'm getting the official single line signal diagrams for all of NYCTA by the end of the week, so I'll have all I need to build the subway more accurately than it's ever been done before! :hehe:

Good news!

I was able to backdate my 2010 routes to 2009 successfully with no errors--so you 2009 folks are in luck---my NYCTA Subway route will be available for that version! :D

Re: Good news!

No errors, Acelejalde? Very good, hopefully u released the your new version, so I can play any train with tunnel lights, and etc.

Destination Display Problem...Still in effect...Please help...

I cannot change the destination display in (Now) ANY Of jeffs NYCTA Subway cars. None of them change or can be changed while in driver mode. Changing them in surveyor has no effect. They do change in surveyor but default back to (Example: R160 N in surveyor. Changed to default M in-game) whatever they first spawned with and never change back.

Using the "destsigntable" (or whatever its called) within Surveyor and manually adding the route textures for the train. Then using the command for in-game use. Doesn't work. Not that there is an error, there is no error or bug reported within Trainz. It just flat out doesn't switch.

I cannot figure out what is wrong either. Tried with TS12 and TS2010. All versions, clean install, EDR, QDR, No warnings in Content manager in both trainz versions. Nothing, ZIP ! Still doesn't work and NEVER worked since they were re made.

If someone could provide an answer, this would help alot ! :)

IRT cars still giving problems...

I installed the .cdp files of jeffs subway cars. It works for BMT\IND Cars in-game, but all IRT cars won't change. They only change to shuttle.

However they do change in surveyor and is applied in-game. But the change destination command still doesn't work for IRT Subway cars.

While trainz commit them, I got 4 errors\warnings. 2 invalid file access errors and 2 "mapfile" (whatever) errors. The trains still work though but IRT cars don't change in-game.

Any ideas for that ?

No more support here, guys!!!

acelejalde on the picture that you posted on the 42 st shuttle can you show me how you got that station?

I am working on witch is now the East New York Yard Tons Of Trains On Every track.

acelejalde how do i download your Station pack and how do i set it up and make my own stations?

Where did you get that r62 i really need it to play my (7) Route.

It's Magicland's, look on the DLS and make sure you have all the boxes for all versions of Trainz checked (he originally made it for 2004).

Just a tip, when quoting, try not to quote ALL of the pictures, just the ones you need. It clutters the boards.

42 St shuttle is a really old route from last year that I kitbashed---meaning I took built in stuff and other items from the DLS to make the station. Search AJS subsurface, and Platform Modern on the DLS to find those items.

The download link to my station pack is floating around here, either on this thread or the "NYC Subway Route thread". Best to look there. There's really no set up needed (for the custom pack), just install the cdp files and start building--the walls and platforms are splines, as well as the stations in my subway station set. I would wait a few more days while I upload the custom station pack--there are some errors I have fixed from the previous release.

ALSO, PLEASE POST ANY INQUIRIES IN THE NYCTA SUPPORT THREAD--THIS IS FOR PICTURES ONLY. THANKS!

I have a question myself -- where are those ceiling lights located? And also the ceiling for the platform(I have the ceiling for the track)

Thanks so much!
