NYC subway Route

Jeff Morris Station Configurations

Hello All!

By request from Fooly, below are the four pages of Jeff Morris' stations configurations that I did. I was bamboozled by the amount of stations he created, and the attention to detail with the configurations. After awhile, it got time consuming sifting through all the stations, looking for which ones I wanted to use. So, I sifted through all the stations (:hehe: ) and made a handy shortcut list, so I can find the station I needed quickly.

PURPLE STATIONS are B-Division lengths (approximately 200 meters), and TEAL STATIONS are A-Division lengths (approx. 175 meters). The numbers above or next to each config denote their name in the list (i.e. "22" in the subway list is 'substation22', and "02" in the el list is "elstation02"), and a green dot means it's an abandoned station layout (all gray).

"Other" Stations and open cuts. In the trackside objects tab, the "other" stations are just listed as "station01", "station02", etc and are a mix of surface, el and subway.

Any questions or clarifications on where in NYC certain platforms can be found, please ask!

P.S. Jeff, do you need help with mapping out Broadway Junction? I can help you!

Bway/ENY

I will make a layout for you with Broadway Junction, including the Alabama Av station, the Chauncey St station for the (J)(Z) and I will include Bushwick/Aberdeen on the (L). Check your e-mail later on in the day for the .cdp file :D

I updated tracks and stations. I added a few new tracks and stations. I'm still working on the IND 6th Avenue route which is driving me crazy. I don't know when the new route will be released.

Question jeff are you using acelejalde stations for your route?

He isn't, because I haven't released them to anybody. He's using his own created stuff for his entire route.

And of course he has Peter's track book and knows about the nycsubway.org website--he isn't exactly new here

Back to route building!

Ok and I was just wondering

Sorry for the tart response. Yesterday wasn't a good day, and I shouldn't have taken it out on you. In response to your NYCTF question, I am using Ish6's station entrances for my el and outside stations. I love creating content, don't get me wrong, but if I try to make every single little piece on my own, I will never get back to route building. Which brings me to my next announcement...

After a lot of consideration, I have decided:

to continue to use mcq's U-Bahn tunnels/tracks, and alterr's Russian subway tunnels on my NYC subway layout. While BStyles is on hiatus, I tried to do my own NYCTA tunnels, and they didn't mesh well with my stations and it just caused a lot of frustration. And, I just found my old NYC subway route in my cdp folder on my desktop, and I've uploaded it, so instead of starting all over like I originally planned, I am going to replace assets the old file and keep on building. So, I am back in the route building game, and for those who have forgotten the progress I've made, here's a handy update map!

More pics to come within the week as I work uptown, and start replacing stations with my new creations!!!

96th St/Broadway

Here's some eye-candy from the first station I've replaced with a new one on my NYC subway route--96th St & Broadway on the West Side IRT. I have to re-do the benches, they came out too small. But the objects are there, along with signals, etc. The splines will come with those tracks pre-attached, which are Russian subway tracks, you'll need them from the DLS.

P.S., the custom subway map situated on the back of the stairs is a scaled-down photo of an actual hand-drawn map made by me in 2010. It is about 4 feet x 4 feet and is hanging on my wall in my living room. I am selling them, ALL hand-drawn and customizable if any of you are interested. We can set prices--inbox me if interested!

P.P.S. I know that the overhead signals need to be height adjusted in sketchup and 3ds to fit the new stations (the lights weren't in the original versions). That will be fixed and a new set will be released soon!

Very Nice Work ;)

Excellent Job acelejalde! Did you make signs like the one in your signature too? And I think the russian subway tracks your using aren't on the dls (you're using Alterr's Russian Subway tunnels from metrorus.ru ?). The stations look absolutely maginificent and the tracks fit well, although some nycta trains i find are too tall for the u-bahn tunnels, so you might want to double check that ;) . Wish you luck with your project.
Cheers,
Eric :)

Is that Subway Exit sign renameable?

No they aren't yet, but thanks for the idea! :D For simplicity's sake, only one line of text will be allowed. Otherwise, I would have to use a separate script, and then they would have to be put in the session layer of your route, otherwise they will ALL reset upon re-opening the file (I had that problem with my BART Mileposts).

I run most of Magicland's and Jeff Morris' cars, and I've had no clearance issues with any of the NYCTA subway cars. My stations are 4.5 meters high, and fit perfectly with the U-Bahn tunnels, and both look good! Thanks for the heads up though. I am using Alterr's Russian subway tracks/tunnels; I only use his tunnels for the river tubes, the rest are MCQ's. I will be sure to include the .cdp file with the relevant Russian files needed for my layout/content.

Thanks for the support guys. I'm working my way down Broadway/7 Av, and will have more shots later!
